When I first posted, I put a link to the news story and a short video. Then, I went back and replaced that link with a longer YT video. Almost as good as the salt marsh Bugatti.

Well, the full title would help. "Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)"
Even the short title isn't that tough, the word "hey" isn't that rare in song titles, LOL.

Well, NCC, the internet is the internet - full of all kinds of people. Some people don't choose their words wisely and may seem offensive to others. Like if ppl are disagreeing on a thread - the other may be hangin out to see what a reply is, and it shows up below in the area where the Browers of the thread show.
Another reason is for people like me that sometimes want to just kick back and sip their coffee and catch up on a thread without communicating. They might not want to join the thread yet - yet some ppl say something like "Hey Sea, I see you lurking down there."
One of my pet peeves is to see someone say something like Goodnight NCC, Sea, JaG and all you lurkers. That just really gets my goat. IDK why, but it does. I guess I feel like ppl should be able to have a little privacy if they choose to, and to have someone blow the whistle on them just hurts my feelings for the invisibles.

Another example ........ the original Snails thread was a group of fun, lovely ppl who had a really tight, caring social bond amongst themselves, but b/c of a misunderstanding, they split up into two separate threads. Because they are not robots that can reach over and flip a switch to turn off feelings, some of them like to go to each others threads just to make sure everyone is okay. And to be visible would look like they were snooping or something silly like that. I still have tears flow down my cheeks when I think about it (like right now) b/c I am an empath and sometimes feel the emotions of others and to some extent even physical pain - not a good thing.
Another reason: One time a female made an improper, flirtatious comment to me. I went invisible to go over to the Gay/Lesbian Social Group to see if she was a member. She was. I am not gay, but I was able to appreciate our differences instead of being offended by her.
I guess everyone has their own reasons for going invisible.
Well Sea, I can understand going stealth for the purpose of your espionage. What I don't understand is remaining in stealth mode long term. But, to each their own.
If I were terribly concerned about privacy, I would just have to swear off the internet, I guess. They say any perception of privacy on the internet is an illusion. That's largely true, IMO.

I have a friend who is a webmaster - only 29, and he's a little Einstein, lol - anyway, he says there's a plugin for just about anything, so I imagine a privacy radio-switch is not always a guarantee of invisibility. Not sure.
