Yes, glad you clarified that.   Don't know what is up with the quotes not carrying forward with the others, I'm having it happen a lot too.

Did she say why they're returning packages??

Love ya Lori, ya know that

I did ask, she just shrugged. she says people just resend 'em and she hasn't seen any returned after the re-post yet.

the move is aimed at eventually taming the fast-growing e-cigarette industry.

Any further rules "will have to be grounded in our growing body of knowledge and understanding about the use of e-cigarettes and their potential health risks or public health benefits,"

Why didn't they do that ^^^ when cigarette's came out? :grr:

However, there's not much scientific evidence showing e-cigarettes help smokers quit or smoke less, and it's unclear how safe they are.

Guess they're not famiular with ECF

tobacco company executives have noted that they are eating into traditional cigarette sales,

And there ^^^ is the real problem

Huh, I should have read it right through. I just "see" e-cigs evil and close the window lately

Correct on all points MD!
Baffles me how they still say it's not helping people quit.

Good morning, Lurkers. :) It looks like an interesting topic is being discussed this morning. There are a lot of lies and half-truths being told about e-cigs. It's all about money and control, Peeps.

A year ago, I had to explain to my adult niece about our Constitutional rights. She had never heard of them and she thought that I was being silly, when I mentioned them to her. It makes me wonder what they teach the kids in school, these days.

They don't care about our health. If they did, cigarettes and booze would've been banned LONG, LONG ago.

You haven't seen any bans on all the different Schnapps flavors, seems a bottle of that ingested by a child would be no better than e-liquid. Common sense would tell you that the smells would surely be just as appealing (for either) to a child. No child proof caps on liquor here in the USA. I guess a capped bottle of beer would qualify, or a corked bottle of wine, but many bottles have twist caps. So that child proof banter (in my opinion) is a crock.

I completely understand and agree with the underage ban. I honestly don't have a problem with basic rules for health and safety guidelines for mixing labs either. ;) Pure nicotine is extremely dangerous in the hands of untrained handlers.

Basic safety measures for the general public. I'm fine with that...but honestly, a lot of it is an extreme overreach of power from the govt. Bottom line is, you can't "protect" everyone from everything. You just can't. At some point people have to take responsibility for smoking, vaping, eating, drinking, dangerous recreational activity...etc. There are a lot of dangerous activities out there, how many children are killed or injured while riding bicycles every year...do we ban that??? Anyhoodles, you get the idea...I could go on and on...

Unless they changed the definition of smoking to inhalation of anything, in which case breathing makes everyone a smoker.
That's what I say when people say certain things will cause "cancer" ...... jeez, just breathing the air will cause it anymore

    Morning Jer! :)

Agreed, I don't how it is exactly there, but here I blame the compensation culture over the last decade, the government is so afraid of some kind of repercussions they're over regulating everything from farts destroying the atmosphere to e-cigs, not only will we not be able to vape regardless of it saving lives, there'll be a public ban on releasing small amounts of methane from our backside. BAN call of duty is the next cry, our children are killing virtual people and they deserve life just like any human!!!!! SOMEONE THINK OF THE VIRTUAL!!!!!.

Welsh, when I was a child, we had toy guns to play with. My favorite was a plastic Thompson sub-machine gun, I had a lot of fun with that toy and that's all it was, A TOY. All of our fathers had served in WWII and we kids wanted to be like our fathers had been. Besides that, we saw a lot of war movies and westerns on the TV and we admired those people.

Then the politically correct ...... decided that toy guns would turn us all into killers, when we grew up, so they became not acceptable. It makes me wonder what kind of idiots are running the world.

Good morning Dale and Lori  Hiya, Welsh. :)

What really irks me is the statement that there is no scientific proof that e-cigs help people to quit smoking. I kicked a 46 year smoking habit, thanks to e-cigs, but I guess that doesn't count, because my quitting smoking wasn't approved by a scientist.
Exactly. 30 years for me too. I found myself defending them to my doctor just last week. He just "didn't know" about them. I said, "no, we sure don't know everything about them, but we sure know PLENTY about the alternative." "oh, and just what were all those possible side effects on that blood pressure med you just prescribed me that made my face, neck and chest turn BRIGHT CHERRY RED?" The one that made my forearms look like I had a bad case of diaper rash, and the area still two weeks later looks faintly stained??? Tell me again how good that is for me!!

....ugh, I think I said I was stopping....LOL's. Officially stepping off my soap box. ;)

Then I will borrow your soapbox, Lori. The FDA is concerned about e-cigs? Really? Just look at all the FDA approved BP meds, being advertised on TV. The side effects have convinced me that they are freakin' dangerous and should not be administered to anyone or any living thing, for that matter.

I remember toy guns, good days.

But then Jerry, I remember playing outside. That's what's changed ya know, the information age has boomed. every dirty little secret is available at the press of a button and kids grow knowing exactly how to get any information they want. We learned how to use a computer, they instinctively know now. An Iphone took me a month to figure out, there's 4 year olds running around with 'em that know what jail-breaking an Iphone is. Sounds entirely off vaping now but my point is, where there's access there's excess regulation. We were taught what we should and shouldn't do, you may have had a toy gun but you were taught not to shoot anyone. Google teaches now, some; not all parents sit back and let that happen.

Yes, by golly...that WAS an FDA approved med, so is the second one they prescribed. Thankfully though IT only makes me dizzy and light headed...they both DO actually work... I will give them that. ;)
Jerry, you're spot on though. Hundreds of thousands of people die every year in the US due to reactions and inappropriate use of prescription meds and medical procedures....but they still haven't banned that. I think that something like 50,000 people died before they finally pulled one med, I want to say it was a heart or cholesterol med. Maybe you remember.

....passes box back to Jerry. :D

......DH was playing an Xbox game that someone from work sent home with him. You could actually kill your "ho", then take your money back.... Nice. Wonder if those cases are childproof.

That's just common sense though Lori, they WAY over-charge

The government would have us all believe though now he's done that virtually he's gonna go hop in a truck and do it in reality, they don't assume that people know what's right from wrong, that we don't exercise choice. They're doing the same with vaping, let us decide. Years from now, six months, tomorrow, we could be told that they're not entirely safe but that shouldn't stop us making the choice to quit, return to smoking, keep vaping unimpeded.

Ha, had to edit this so much when I realised how many cusses were in it
