Chapel, my mother was hospitalized for low potassium several times. Each time we took her in because we thought it was her heart. Eldest DS was transported to the ER by ambulance (radioed in as "an apparent heart attack") 2 years ago for the same condition. As long as the potassium level was/is good they did just fine. That was the only time in his adult life I have seen the eldest DS truly frightened!

The sex offender that lived next to my grandkids lost his roof last night in the wind. Guess he shouldn't have gotten high and punched out so many windows, it made for a great wind tunnel! Nice of God to kick him out of the condemned trailer that the local cops said they couldn't do anything about him living in...

The potassium thing seems to be a recurring problem, so I am doing what I can to rectify and research the situation . Thank you for sharing with me. I found out later that my eldest was in the hospital for a while when she was 14. Diabetic complications drove her potassium level down so low she had to have a central line before she had a heart attack...

Mom was a brittle diabetic also. She had already had a quadruple bypass as well so when her's fell it got pretty desperate quite rapidly. She had another unusual one, when low on calcium her hands would turn to claws that you could not pry open...to the point she dug holes in her palms with her finger nails. She had a whole spectrum of unusual medical things though...
