DS came home so we are trying to figure out when to leave for his competition tomorrow. About noon we think.
She knows, but I'll tell her tooWell, since Lori is here and gone (don't blame her at all)...Dale please tell her she is in our prayers. Health issues are so hard. Especially when the doctors don't seem to be in a real hurry to get you fixed up right.

I'm going to be ok, but the results were positive.
Hubby is my ROCK. So, to tell the Lurkers: I had a colonoscopy tuesday and I will be having surgery. Probably about the 25th or so. It hasn't been scheduled yet and I still have to see the surgeon.
The c word has not spread and is contained in one area. They will be cutting that thing out then putting me back together. Just a section will go missing.
I will be OK.

I agree too. I have no idea what the problem is with her. I just don't like the stress it puts on my mom.

Evening Lurkers! I won't even pretend that I'm caught up.
Sorry I haven't been around much. It's been a very long week, and I had a health issue pop up....kind of literally....I now have high blood pressure. I strongly suspect that it's related to my low thyroid, but won't have the latest blood test results until the first part of next week.
It was quite by accident that I even found that I was having issues, and it was so very high that the first night (Monday night) I completely dismissed it, and totally thought that the BP device was faulty.Yeah well, it wasn't.
Long story short, I checked it Wednesday at lunch at CVS. It was 183/119.
They got me right in...
Wednesday night was awful though. I had an allergic reaction to the med they prescribed, and at one point, my top number dropped 40 points in one hour....that was quite the ride down...amazing because even when my BP was so very high, I felt perfectly fine...well, my normal crummy self, but not anything that would indicate a serious issue. I now know what they mean by "the "cure" just might kill ya"
My second attempt with a new med (last night) was some better. I didn't turn cherry red on my face, neck, or forearms this time, but it just makes me feel nauseous, completely wobbly, and groggy. We'll see if tonight is any better.
I've been being treated for hypothyroid for almost three years now, and I guess my thyroid isn't helping much at all anymore, if any. The Dr. said that my current medication isn't enough to supplement it so now it's throwing off even more.
I'd actually misunderstood her at my appt. in Feb. when she said the numbers were high. I thought she meant high as in hyper, that I'd moved from hypo to hyper. No, that wasn't the case. But she said at the last appt. she didn't want to change my med, she wanted to see my bloodwork again in four months and make a decision then...well, I made it two months...
I'm sure it will all be fine, there are hundreds of thousands of people with thyroid issues, and other issues FAR worse than this. It's just very frustrating for me right now, and I'm really getting worn out with it all.
So, I apologize, but I just have not felt up to getting on the thread. I've also been trying to do a bit of reading about the connection with low thyroid and high BP...and in and between all that, and working, I just haven't felt too chatty.
Hope all is well with all of you, and please know that I've missed you all so much!! I'll be back, off now to do a few things and make my way to the couch.
Now Lori no apologizing necessary my dear. I'm just glad you went to the doc. And I won't be too hard on Dale for keeping your secret. You just take care of yourself & get some rest. Keep us posted on how the new meds are going. You know we
