 He'll probably out-live you all

Haha he might... Reptiles are such interesting creatures. They have personalities too but they are very lethargic 95% of the time. When Tuck came to live here he was really sick. So as he got healthy I was always worried cause he would sleep sometimes for over 24 hours. Then one week he would be really active then the next sleep a lot. But the vet that have him to me kept saying he looks really good and that it's normal for them to be so lazy. Still have to give him a vitamin shot once every 3 weeks

When my vet gave him to me he was really sick. His previous owners didn't have a uv light on him only a heat lamp and they never changed his water. They sleep in their water and go to the bathroom in it. They don't really drink water much so they sit in water and excret stuff into it meaning it needs to be changed often.. So he developed some conditions which are basically fully gone now. Except I give him a vitamin shot to give him that boost. I personally would have never got a reptile as a pet I think they belong in the wild and are happiest there. But this guy would never survive there now so I just do the best I can to help him be comfortable. I used to work for my vet in high school and take care of all the animals there. So he knew I would take care of Tuck and could give him the small medical attention he needed. My vet does regular mammals but also reptiles and Birds. He had a alligator and a bunch a big birds it's really cool

Yup they eat lots of vegetables especially Romaine lettuce do they get Easter from that. They need a very small amount of water though compared to us. Only thing is u are like me you love animals a lot and being at a vet you see mostly suffering animals and it hard. But it's nice be there and comfort them. I met some of the best people I've ever met at the vet.
