Thank you evie. Long story short, my eldest was married for a long time to someone we affectionately refer to as "the bible donkey". Mentally abusive, arrogant, dumb as a box of rocks, narcissistic, presumptuous, and completely useless at actually supporting get his wife and daughter. They finally filed for divorce last month.
DD is doing the best she can to follow all rules of engagement in this situation, he continually looks for ways to start fights or complain that something isn't fair.
We tried to be nice and house him until he could get on his feet....That wasn't good enough. He kept picking fights over nothing until my DD finally kicked him out. He has been using his free time to catch up on all the drinking his wife would not let him do while they were married. Oh joy. ....can you say ticking time bomb?

Oh brother!!! I hope your granddaughter is doing okay through all this, I'm sure she loves both of her parents and this must just be awful for her. I'll pray for your whole family Chapel. :)

When my parents divorced they fought so bad and would use me and my brother as a go between. Telling us how bad the other one was etc. It made me and my brother feel like crap because we were half of each of them. Then one day me and my brother got mad at our dad and went to mom gripping about him to her. She stopped us and told us no matter what he was our father and we wasn't to speak about him like that. I respected her for that.

When my brother got a divorce we made sure no matter how much we can't stand the ex. She is my nephews mother and we don't speak bad about her especially in front of his boys. We never wanted them to feel like they were hated in our family because they carry her blood too. And that is their mom and they love her. Just thought I'd share that. Divorce is hard and sometimes we really need to watch what is said in front of the grandbaby. :)

Sorry if I've spoken out of turn I just felt like sharing my story with you. :)

I'm doing good :) Still in a holding pattern, I have an appointment to see the surgeon on Thursday so I should have a date after seeing him. I just want this out of me.

I am determined to be a cancer survivor! :D

As a breast cancer survivor do you mind me asking what type cancer you have? :(

Evie, thank you for sharing. Honestly just praying for healing, especially for the girls. My daughter and the rest of us in the house have been really careful not to disparage him in the presence of the little one. But in her three and a half years of life, she has always known we were there for her. Her father, even though he was under the same roof, never paid much attention to her. Didn't do any of what needed to be done to look after her. Sitting slack jawed in front of the tv, mostly. Now, baby girl is starting to show resentment at him and he is crying foul. We can't fix what he broke....we can just pray that she comes through safe and secure.
