Evening Chim!! Sounds exhausting, but SO THANKFUL he's okay!!! That could've gone South SO MANY WAYS!!
Sorry you've got such a long stretch until your next day off. :( But glad you get the 4th off!!

So Welsh, I guess the 4th of July isn't a big deal in the UK, ehhh.... Prob no fireworks, huh.

Hey Lori:wub:
It was but I'm with you. It could've been horrible! I'm so glad it wasn't. He's not happy about paying the deductible but I reminded him of exactly how lucky he was.

Yes! Me too! I can't remember the last time I was off for the 4th. We usually closed early & the mall closes at 6 but at the old job I was always the one working. I'm actually looking forward to helping Reggie with cooking out. Hope I don't change my mind by the time next Friday gets here:laugh:

How was your day?

Ah, okay; I thought I must have misunderstood something :)

Glad there wasn't a fire involved

Hiya Lori!!!

Oh no! No fire. Just his gas tank leaking all down the road.
I told him he was lucky that it didn't ignite somehow.
Not sure if anything else underneath the car was damaged yet but the gas tank is a goner for certain.

He didn't get the license number? :( That's too bad that he has to pay. I wouldn't be happy about that either. But that's why we carry it I guess.

I will never forget the night we were on the interstate behind a semi that had a fuel leak.

DH was trying to get around him because something was spraying off his truck. DH rolled down the window and we could smell that it was diesel fuel. DH drove like a crazy person to get him to pull over, and he pulled over pretty quick because DH basically didn't give him much of a choice.

I figured DH would get us shot or something, since the semi driver had no idea that he had a fuel leak, and HAD to have thought we were lunatics. DH hopped out and told him, he was SOOOOOOOOOO thankful, but DH apologized and said if it were anything other than a fuel leak, he'd stay and help, but the truck driver insisted that we leave immediately, that he would take care of it, that it was too dangerous. He just thanked us over and over though for pulling him over.

I don't even think he realized what happened at first.

Our little village actually puts on a really nice display. They shoot them off fro the park next to us, so our backyard is FRONT ROW, CENTER. I'll see if DH can get any good pics. Rita HATES them though. We have to put her in the basement early because they have the ones that just make this GINORMOUS BOOM sound, with no fireworks display. They set off several of those leading up to the time that the display starts. Kind of like a teaser, or count down. It literally shakes our windows.

Are you & DH still doing the 4th of July celebration at your house?
Our place is available to them but I have no idea if DS will follow through or not.
He's all ready changing his mind about grilling for Pizza

I really kind of doubt it

    Awwwh poor Rita:(
We have to go downtown to see them here. Maybe I'll actually get to go this year. The last time I've seen fireworks for the 4th was a couple of years ago. I was in Chicago with one of my good friends for the Taste of Chicago. Yum! Good food & fireworks! That was a great time:)

    I've heard that's REALLY nice!!

Well, I'm off for the tub.

Not sure if I'll be back. I may be watching tv with DH.

If I don't make it back, sweet dreams when you go.
