We've been getting fire's on the mountains around us for the last two years, scary to say the least!!! Golly Kayte, that sounds horrible!!! Sheesh! Hope we get a bunch more years out of our system! Gotta keep up with the Rid-x gotta keep up with the Rid-x!!!!Oh no dale! A waffling husband is never good!I hope it works out the way you want it to.
Our septic is about 25 years old and was just great... until now.![]()
Oh Lori... I'm sorry you've had to go through this kind of thing, too. They're telling us it's going to cost $15,000 to $20,000.We're hoping they'll let us do some of the work ourselves to knock that down a bit.
And yeah... fire is a major concern here. The forest service is closing the mountain tomorrow at 8am. They'll put a road block just past my house (we're the last house before national forest.) It's scary to have it this bad.
Howdy all! Just sticking my head in the door for a sec. Trying to get motivated to work on some stuff.....BBL
Ok caught up. Whew...
Dale start drinking buttermilk. Or holding it on your to hue if you don't like it.
Haze what can I say? Yes this is a big family and we love you too
Ok I think I'm done. Or at least what I remember from umpteen pages.
It wasn't a bacteria thing, it was a tree root thing for us. Usually the tanks fail only if they rust and collapse. I've heard of people in our area replacing them literally under the cover of DARKNESS to keep from having to put in the new aeration systems. Sort of a septic tank black market....Sheesh! Hope we get a bunch more years out of our system! Gotta keep up with the Rid-x gotta keep up with the Rid-x!!!!

One other thing if you do attempt to DIY that project. DH did buy a laser leveler/grade thingie (DeWalt brand at Lowes). It wasn't cheap, but when we were doing ours, DH said that if you don't make sure it's graded properly the doo doo isn't going to flow correctly and no way was he digging up the yard again. Besides, he looked on eBay (at the time) and they were selling at near purchase price, so he said he can always sell it later, but that it was a good thing to have if you ever needed to do landscaping stuff. Thanks Lori! I'll definitely look into that.![]()
