I just realized why this whole thing is so appealing to me. I've always had a bit of the mad scientist to my personality - starting with mixing horrific combinations of stuff found in my mom's kitchen (coffee ground pancakes, anyone?) and making younger kids in the neighborhood eat/drink them.

Then, I was a bartender 'nuff said.

NOW, gadget-y inhaler-y thing to which I can add my own flavors?

Awwwwesome.

I've just recently started the Mad Scientist schtik myself and having a blast with it. After analogs for so long and the who knows how many nasty chems they put in those, it's VERY refreshing to know exactly what I'm putting in the juices

I'm having a blast mixing my own stuff. How many crazy combo's can you put together that turn out to taste great! And the ones that don't taste great... got any friends you wanna prank? >=)

Funny you should say that. *points to signature*

I love DIY. And if there's going to be one thing that shatters my fantasy of saving money with e-cigs, it's not going to be the fancy mods, or the cool accessories. It's going to be needing every flavor, every mixer, every piece of DIY chemistry, in all of existence.

I'm holding back for now. We'll see how long it lasts. ;)

Is it worth it?

Depends on your personality.
If you find it impossible to make the same dish the same way twice, you might be a DIY mixer.
Do you wonder why the person who made your food didn't use X, you might be a DIY mixer.
Does producing something unvapable get you down, you might not be a DIY mixer.
Does producing something unvapable make you want to go back and start again, then you might be a DIY mixer.

It's a hobby. It's control over exactly what you inhale. It's experimenting. It's producing juice that is only good for cleaning drains. It's about producing juice that makes you say "wow" before you finish inhaling.

I think it is fun, but I'm a Hoosier...

I've found my people. Gadget-y, a little outside the mainstream, tinkerers & chefs... It's all good.

Neither here nor there
You carbonate the water first, then add whatever you want. I like the flavoring syrups they sell. Lorann's or similar flavoring can be added, and whatever sweetener you like. Make it a little fizzy, or hella fizzy. If you like plain old sparking water, it's great. Great for mixing drinks, and making tempura batter. It makes a very loud TOOOT noise for a second after each blast of CO2, so it's also fun for the kiddies. :)
