Hey all. I'm hoping for some advice that may apply to a few others as well. Really hate spending time working on ecig stuff, so I rarely do, and I'm wondering about the most basic maintenance--absolute minimum--needed to maintain my fatt batts and mega cartos.

Batts: at the moment, I wipe off the threads and poke the air intakes every 1-2 weeks.

Cartos: I refill each mega carto 5+ times before tossing it (never longer than a month).

I don't do anything else. Should I? Maybe rinse the cartos? Boil them? Clean the batts more thoroughly somehow? Anything critical for improving performance that I'd be a fool not to do?

Thanks for any advice for super lazy guys who still want a tasty vape. :2cool:

no really for the bare minimum that sounds pretty good. for my stick batts and eGo batts I don't do anything to them on a regular scheduled plan. Just if the connector is looking like it is getting nasty i first wipe it down with just a paper towel. if it still isn't looking good then i break out the rubbing alcohol, q-tips and toothpicks.

if you are filling the carto with the same juice then you dont need to clean or boil it. I have done the same when i used the mega carts. i'd fill them about 5 times, or until it started tasting funny. then toss it.

Hey Jeffree, I like your style :thumb: I'm not one for doing more maintenance than I have to - unless I'm really bored

I clean my battery threads about once a month. I clean my air intake holes um ... never... But I would look at it if they weren't working properly.
Like Blue said, clean charger threads & contacts - I do this when I do my battery threads
And drip tips, though I clean those every time I replace a tank carto, so maybe 1-2 times per week.

As for boiling cleaning cartos, since switching to tanks, I wouldn't even consider it.

I'm like you jeffree, but I do keep a sealed container of 100 proof vodka in my vaping station with a napkin or kleenex. I always clean my filled cartos with vodka before I put it on the batt since I use only autos. I have a couple of manuals that is used with a freshly filled tank for a little while to make sure there are no leaks.

Not sure if its a great idea, but I clean the threads on my batts with a toothbrush. Whenever I see the darkness building up around threads, I take a toothbrush to it for about 5 seconds and it looks like new. If I see there is some dirt or something in an airhole then Ill clean them out.

I really should look into cleaning tanks haha. I havent cleaned a tank yet.. I also havent switched liquids ina tank yet either tho. However, I plan to clean it shortly when the current carts die in them. Just going to strip them apart and clean with hot water(probably let it set in a glass over night)

So long as there isn't any toothpaste on it, I'm sure a toothbrush is an excellent tool for thread cleaning! :D

As to cleaning tanks, I just rinse them under hot water, sometimes I even take them apart first LOL. They each are all dedicated to a flavor, so I haven't ever had to deal with any 'residual flavor' issues that may arise.

Not gonna happen, gf. Just bite the bullet and toss 'em. :D The game's not worth the candle!

Absolutely agree Eleanor. Every now & then I get a burst of energy, but instead of using it to do things like clean cartos, I now use it to toss out stuff I was going to do things to.

I will probably do the same someday. I just keep waiting for a random shot of energy to hit me and make me clean them,LOL!!

I did just that today.. Well somewhat. I grabbed about 30 carts and went and cleaned them. I used the turkey baster method... never again... It works amazingly but my hand was so damn sore and still is. It took ages to clean all the things too. Will definitely just buy new ones in the future and just keep some old ones for when I am desperate.

yep I am the same way. I have pretty much every cart I have ever used. Plan to throw them out, but then I don't lol. they are all bagged up so they dont take up much room. Some day i will do something with it.

also Skoad I see your a baller huh? I used to play. Some PSP(but only Chicago open) mainly just local tourney. Then the Tourny seen here in Wisconsin died. Sad too cause there were some amazing players here that faded away because of the lack of sponsorship and opportunities.

Not trying to change the topic, but yea.. I dont play as much as I use to but I still play. I played a lot more when I was younger and had a fair amount of money. Im in the same boat you mentioned... there is nowhere to play here. I use to drive 2hours one-way every single weekend to play/practice.. but that got tiring. There are 5 speedball fields surrounding me and almost all of them are 2hours away. Almost 2 years ago I purchased 2 full 7man fields worth of bunkers, and 30 sets of rental gear. I had planned to open my own field here so I could get more playing in and build up some local sponsors, but things fell through and couldnt purchase the rest of the stuff needed. =/

For any youngins out there... Just a few years ago, a lot of us were pretty worried about ecigs suddenly disappearing from the market. Thus, a lot of us hoarded bags of old cartos in case of Prohibition. I felt safe finally dumping mine recently and can only hope I was right. At least I'll never have to vape those old moldy thangs. :2cool:
