Most likely because SJ was just grabbing things to link to while he was trying to set it up today?

Doesn't take much to make people jaded around here, does it? :p
I can see why someone would be frustrated with this.

Personally I don't have a problem with this kind of thing because after all it's only the internetz and I expect it to see rumors without so much as one shred of evidence.

Hopefully this one is true, btw in a related story all egos are to be free from now on and will be hand delivered by a beautiful pixie riding a unicorn.

I can't tell you how I got this breaking and possibly most important vaping news of all time but it's true!!! really... I swear!!!

I'm not sure what the company's official stance is but in my building, I'm allowed to vape at my desk. I think we're up to 8 vapers in my area. Plenty of corporate executives have visited and no one has said a word. As long as no one complains it's OK

On the other hand, the main corporate office has instituted an "unscented" policy that does away with using scented air fresheners and wearing cologne/perfume. That policy is across all divisions nationwide; newspapers, magazines, networks and MSOs. HR has stated that vaping is not included at this time.

I work for a private company and I am allowed to vape all day AND use the computer for personal reasons (within reason i.e.I couldn't spend all day at tig ol bittys dot com or some such but email, quick forum posts, etc. is fine). In fact I am typing this at work while vaping! Some of our regular customers are doctors, RN's, PA's etc. and they mostly seem very interested and/or enthusiastic about PV's and me quitting smoking. Maybe this is one more way we vapers can get the REAL truth out! It seems that the anti-smoking types are quick to becoming anti-vaping types and I believe this to be the result of poor information and the use of buzzwords. i.e. the gov. of New Jersey stating that they should be banned because it may encourage children to start smoking. As soon as you throw the phrase "for the children" into the mix it seems that the public at large will stop thinking and just get behind whatever you are selling because it's "for the children". Wouldn't it be better "for the children" if smokers stopped smoking? Sorry....I wandered off topic for a moment.

Here is a bit of news that people here might find encouraging: One of the 10 largest companies in the United States is now allowing its employees to vape at their desks, and they are doing so in very large numbers. I cannot disclose the name of the company, but I can say that everybody here would instantly recognize the name.

The pure business case for allowing employees to vape at their desks (potential reduction in healthcare costs related to employee smoking; perceived productivity increase due to reduction or elimination of smoke breaks; enhanced cognition; improved morale among [now] ex-smokers and coworkers that disliked the lingering smell of cigarette smoke; increased ability to cope with work-related stress) is so compelling that this isn't surprising, and is an encouraging trend that is gaining momentum.

May I ask why you can't disclose the name of the company??

If this story is true (it seems vague) then it is great news and helpful to the cause. Imagine a few big companies allowing vaping. We could use some good news and get the vaping momentum swinging in the positive direction.

I linked to this because I think it's a pretty interesting development.

and, yes, it's a rumour right now - but a well established member has made the comment with certainty, and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt to such members.

If it's bull, it's bull - and no harm done.

If it's true, however, this is a major development.
