This is my wish for you:

Comfort on difficult days
Smiles when sadness intrudes
Rainbows to follow the clouds
Laughter to kiss your lips
Sunsets to warm your heart
Hugs when spirits sag
Friendships to brighten your being
Beauty for your eyes to see
Faith so that you can believe
Confidence for when you doubt
Patience to accept the truth
Courage to know yourself
Love to complete your life.

Good Morning Major!

I hope today is a good day that starts a good week for you.

A little background before a quotation that I find amusing:

Alexander Pope gave Fredrick the Prince of Wales a dog in 1736; around this time he also gave him a collar with this inscription. The dog was to help guard the Prince's house and garden at Kew.

"I am his Highness dog at Kew; pray tell me, sir, whose dog are you?"

Good Morning/Evening All! Hope everyone had a great weekend and trust the relaxation time helped refill your tank! ;)

I had a great weekend! I have never been spontaneous in my actions but Saturday morning I said to my wife "let's go spend the night at the beach" so we did. Our home on the beach is no longer there but growing up and living literally on the Gulf is so nice! :)

Nothing special really - Just rented a hotel room and spent the night with the gentle breezes coming off the water and the lullaby sounds of the waves as they roll onto the beach. I can't do it in the daylight as some of the meds have made me highly allergic to the sun but no biggy!

Just basically doing nothing but sharing the company of a lovely lady and a little time out from the norm. Heck, I didn't even carry my phone. We only carried hers as it is a call only type (so I wouldn't be watching ball games and surfing the web). Anywho, twas a lot of relaxing quality time.

Thanks yet again for all the inspirational posts, pictures and songs. You guys and gals are the best!

Major, congrats on the great weekend, sound pretty special to me. Living in the moment with someone you love is about as special as special gets. :) It's ironic that when we accept that we will die, it opens up the awareness for us to live life to its fullest. Each moment becomes special and to be cherished. Right now I am cherishing My stealth and penelope. :vapor:
We all have one life and we all get a second chance in each and every moment.

Happy vaping :toast:

Good Morning Major!

Glad you had fun at the beach. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. There is nothing like the sea to blow out a few cobwebs and up lift the spirits.

I must admit, I tend to think of English gravel beaches with little surf. That's based on what English tourists tell me! I'm sure things have moved on from the 1960's when rolling up your trouser legs and 'going for a paddle' whilst having 'ice-cream in a cone' was adventurous.

:D

If you are looking for a good summer book, try 'The Tent, the Bucket and Me' by Emma Kennedy. If it hurts to laugh, you may not want to read it!

Good Morning Major!

What glorious news of your soothing weekend! I'm happy for you and with you! The whole thing sounds just wonderful! I hope the healing ritual of sun and sea bolstered you even more as you sat on that lovely shore....

"Inward and outward and northward and southward the beach lines linger and curl
as a silver wrought garment that clings to, and follows, the pure sweet limbs of a girl."

Good Morning/Evening All! It is going to be a lovely day! Since I sleep days and am awake nights, one of the joys for me is to take time out from whatever I am doing each day and watch the sun rise.

Not sure what meteorological reasons cause it to be so but today was especially gorgeous with wisps of feathery clouds as the burnt orange horizon eased its way into the beautiful bright blue sky. Made the coffee taste a but better than normal if I may say so.

I continue to enjoy the beautiful pictures and prose offered to the thread by so many. I have always been influenced by the lyrics of many songs I have enjoyed throughout my life. Although some see the song "The Boxer" by Paul Simon to be a gloomy song, I have never gotten that from it at all.

The last verse in particular strikes me as inspiring. Yes it speaks of shame but the key words to me are the last line of the verse:

In the clearing stands a boxer,
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that laid him down
And cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame,
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains...

For me it is simple. You never win all battles in life and one thing that is assured is that none of us will get out of it alive! That said, no matter what I have faced and I am sure it is so true of many of you are the words "but the fighter still remains...".

Have a great day all! :)

Wow, thanks for making me cry ......one of my dad's fave songs, I think of him every time that verse comes up, he had one arm, childhood polio, and my mom as a wife, it wasn't easy for him......keep the fight alive, Steve, enjoy every sandwich.......:thumb:
