Good Morning Major and Mrs Major!

Good Morning to everyone here :)

If you are all well, I am glad.

My cicadian retune is turning into the insomnia nightmare you can only dream about (!)

On top of that, I have had to stop taking some medication due to it not working. I can confidently say that I have felt better. Next week, I will have the $$$ and the GP appointment.

I thought I would put another of my husband's artworks up. This is one of his early prints from a course he did. It is of course my lovely girl, Chai when she was about 4 months old (hence the immature plumage colours).

She is in her cage and demanding I close it up and cover her so she can sleep! She has a point.

So it's goodnight from me and the 'kids' :) :)> :)<> :)>

Good Morning Major! Good Morning Mrs. Major!

I must say I love this thread! What a fabulous story, including pictures, of a wonderful adoption. What joy you see in these posts as people, from all walks of life, and corners of our world share themselves openly. I feel uplifted reading these wonderful stories and seeing the colorful artwork, thoughtful and expressive photographs, and interesting videos posted. So I say.....raise a glass! (It might be orange juice, but orange juice is realy good too) Let's toast each other, let's toast life, let's toast love. It reminds me of a philosophical/religious thought I had once.
"When you look around at our world and see all it's beauty, the sacrifice of love, the daunting undertakings of honor, and otherwise amazing place we live I want to remember it is but a poor weak, dim, and distant reflection of the beatific and the promise it holds."

Anyway...toast away today! I will when I get off work tomorrow around 0600. I also like to sometimes remember these funny words:

"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotamy."
-Oscar Wilde

Cheers everyone! :toast:

Good morning Steve. Did you give that kiss to your wife? Did you tell her it was from me? I am too far to give it to her buddy!!

Yes I did and she knew right away it was not from me! She said that it had to be a kiss sent by another since I am clearly not "continental" and the kiss had the flair and passion of a Mediteranian gentleman with passion! ;) (well she actually said that after I told her the kiss came from you my friend! :D)

Good morning to the Majors! Hope you're feeling better today.

I wanted to share a bit about the power of love. Not the kind you read about in the Readers Digest but about the stuff I witnessed with my own eyes. This is our new niece Giulia. My sister adopted her in China. Normally the wait on these adoptions is 3-5 years but Giulia was born with a hole in her heart. A special announcement was made to waiting families that if they wanted to adopt Giulia, due to her special medical condition, the process could be speeded up. It would be a huge financial cost due to the required surgeries and of course always the physical risk. My sister and her husband decided they could not give up this little child and immediately flew to China to get her.
Within 24 hours, she became of of us and was showered with love.
This is when we brought her home.

And this is her after a month of pure love. What's miraculous is a month after my sister brought her home, they took her to their US pediatrician and had her checked out. There was no hole in her heart. Was is a misdiagnosis in China? Maybe, but we choose to think that love, kindness, being part of a family, Prayer, good food, rest and more love healed her.

Always remember that to God, we are his little children. That said, since we all come from God, that makes us all brothers and sisters.

Don't forget about the power of Love ever.

Oh yea, Duke says hi! Giulia put on a hat on him for this picture for you

God Bless and have a great day!

I have to say that even with the wonderful love and wishes that sustain me from my world-wide friends here, this post brought a tear to my eyes. Not only the act of adopting a child with a birth defect but the now "missing" hole in her precious heart.

Some may choose to see it as luck or an initial misdiagnosis but that is something in my heart and soul that calls these blesses happenings miracles. Regardless of its origins and you guys know I am sure from where I think such things come from, no matter what the details are, it can only be a miracle if you truly believe.

I thank God every day for allowing us to hear and see such things for it only serves to build up the faith of those who do believe! :)

Good Morning/Day Evening all from Mrs. M and myself!!! :) I am truly sorry I missed the target date of this week but some of the experimental medications I am trying for my kidneys conflicted with other medications for blood pressure and other things.

But that is not a defeat! It is only a setback of a few days time! And it is not a new sickness for sure as I think most all of us that take any medications have had medicines conflict from time to time. The good news is I have learned to not wait when I know something is not right. I no longer try to be stubborn and "work my way through it". That is why we have doctors and hospitals and while our faith should not rest in doctors, I am thankful for the knowledge that allows many problems to be corrected! ;)

I too am looking forward to resuming my usher duties brother dspin! I think we all from time to time fail to keep in mind just how wonderful simple day to day tasks can be. :) With that said though, I will polish up the toes of my boots! Smoothe and slick boot tips are needed from tine to time when you consider where they have to be put sometimes!

Everyone have a blessed and fruitful remainder of the week! :)

Torque that is simply beautiful, I totally agree that with love comes healing and with healing comes a longer life to spend loving.

She is a beautiful Child and I wish her many many years of happiness and love with your wonderful Family my Friend.

Sincerely Nate
