Gooood Morning Major! Gooood Morning Mrs. Major!:)

Good morning fellow posters to this thread!

It sounds like the fight is going well! May positive energies, healing, soothing, and calming engulf you both this day easing and salving all your anguish.

Ahh....more on the fight! Can fighting be comic?

Good Morning to Mr and Mrs Major!

Hi there everyone!

Good to know you and your meds are sorting it out. Me too.

Gizmo has mastered his step-ups but now he wants to kiss. Issue is that he thinks he's being gentle... last night was spent like this lady (I also have two nice 'cyclops smiley face' marks):

Good Morning Major! Good Morning Mrs. Major!

I hope that all of the medication changing and adjusting has been completed and that you both are able to take your various meds without fear or harm. What could be worse than the medicine that's supposed to heal you actually harming you? I was put on Lipitor for my first high cholesterol med. I grew ever sicker, day after day, until one day, I got so sick I couldn't work. I realized then that I had a reaction to that medication and they changed it to Tricor and the problem went away.

I hope, and pray, that you both are healing, happy, and calm. May this blessed Sunday be an extra special pull-into a rest area kind of day for you both. Hope you like the quotation (about fighting and the truth? Nawww....couldn't be!:D)

"Adversity is the first path to truth. Happiness is like those palaces in fairy tales whose gates are guarded by dragons: we must fight in order to conquer it."
~Alexandre Dumas

I hope I'm not intruding. I clicked on "New Posts" and found this thread and I am glad I did.

Good morning, Major, and everyone. It is great to see so many caring people, sharing their stories and supporting one another.

Major, I know about depression and being so low that there is no where to look but UP. I sympathize and though I don't know you, I care. I care because you are a human being and a creation of God and you matter. My very best wishes to you and your family and to everyone in this thread. God bless you all. :)

Hello Major, Mrs. Major, everyone. I haven't been in the forum for several weeks, and am therefore out of touch. But, I did manage a trip to Yellowstone, captured this photo, and wanted to share it. I believe all forms of beauty are healing in some way.

This is the Grand Prismatic Spring, my favorite Yellowstone hot spring. Looking into the pool gives the impression of a Carribean coral reef surrounded by fantastic shades of blue and green. The steaming water, heated by volcanic activity deep within the Earth, is forced upward and runs across the surrounding land toward a large river below. The colors are composed of minerals, bacteria, and algae.

How lucky we are to be flying through the not so void space upon this beautiful Earth.

HAPPY WEEKEND to all from the Mrs. and myself! :) As always the posts, pictures and inspirational prose and songs make the world brighter for all who will allow them to! ;)

Had someone told me in January of 2011 that I would be able to kick my tobacco habit of 40 plus years, the best I could have offered was "I hope you are correct"... A year and 9 months later, not only has that come to pass but finding a new hobby/passion as well.

Oh how I love to spend time in this virtual place! As important to my health as the tobacco riddance was, the thing most welcomed and cherished is the people! Caring, sincere people who take time from their day to offer encouragement and inspiration to another human being. :)

It is SO easy if you take the time to read or watch the latest news, no matter where in the world you call home, to see the worst that mankind can do to seemingly hasten our own self-destruction. But that is what "sells" I suppose. One can spend 30 minutes watching/reading that or the same 30 minutes seeing the inherent goodness of human beings. I choose the latter! :toast:

And yes, it would be so easy to say that such a choice is to be an ostrich and stick ones head in the sand by doing this but that is simply not true! I agree we cannot allow ourselves to become ignorant, dull or complacent about the realities of the world in which we live but that doesn't mean we have to choose to spend voluntary time rolling in the mud of the worst of humanity.

I likewise could have chosen to eat bark from a tree with a side of weeds, all washed down with dirty ditch water for breakfast. But I chose to enjoy a couple of poached eggs (yes, I know about dairy in my condition so sue me!), lightly buttered toast with home-made grape jam washed down with a couple of cups of the best coffee in Florida!

YES! It is a silly analogy BUT it is oh so true. Life deals enough bumps without choosing to spend your time in the mire. ENJOY both the time and the company that pleases you. We wont get anything more from life than we put into it and that includes choosing to be happy or contented when we are able to do so!

I do apologize for the sermonette but when it's my choice, I prefer the toast and coffee (contented appreciation) over weeds and ditch water (gloom and despair). I hope you will do so as well. Have a great Sunday all!

I don't usually reply with a quote (from the poster, that is :)) in this thread but I just couldn't help myself! I wanted to share something....Major...I think you are improving! When I've known very ill friends and family members who are recovering, or recovered, from some major illness or injury, even over the phone (includes myself as told by others) I would say, "You're doing better! I can hear it in your voice!"

Is it possible? I think it is!
Major, "You're doing better! I can hear it in your post!":w00t:

Well said Steve. I could be listening to the news right now, but instead, I choose to sit here at the computer in front of the window watching the yellow, gold, and red leaves drift to earth with the approach of fall. Peaceful. Healthy. I stay in touch with what's happening, but also need my "sanity" time :)

Good Morning Major and Mrs Major!

It's official, Daylight Saving time is here with the inevitable confusion. Suddenly the clocks are lying! 7am?! Pah! It's really 6.

Nice, big bruises surround my bird bites- nothing like having to explain to everyone that my husband is a cool and wonderful guy and yes, I'm fine!

So nice to see you are perky and having a yummy breakfast. You can have the eggs!!

Glad you had a great weekend and that many great days are ahead.

This is a work by Natasha Shackleton, a New Zealand artist. The birds are (clockwise) New Zealand Wood Pigeon, Fantail, Tui and Morepork.
