Hello my fellow Christian (and non-Christian) Friends ...

One of Joanna's friends is having a really rough time. He and his wife had 3 beautiful daughters, and about 4 years ago, his wife was diagnosed with cancer. She was bed ridden for 17 months before she passed away and got to see her heavenly father.

7 weeks AFTER the Passing of their mother, the youngest daughter Cassidy had swollen lymph nodes. They rushed her the hospital and she was diagnosed with leukemia. So, a single father dealing with the loss of his wife, now having to deal with a 3 year old with cancer. She was given a bone marrow transplant from her sister and went in to remission. A few months later, it was back - and worse. It had transformed in to another type of leukemia that was even deadlier. Her chances of survival are quite slim, and she is now at St. Judes in Memphis, TN.

Yesterday, we got to visit her. She was going under for her 2nd transplant, this time from an anonymous donor. I would graciously like to ask for your thoughts and prayers .... Cassidy, her father, 2 sisters (and new step mom) have been through so much in the past 3 years. I ask that you pray she goes back in to remission and that God's keeps her family strong.

Thank You all and God Bless :)

A Few Pictures For You All :)

Lord,

Please help little Cassidy in her time of need. Please send your Holy Spirit to lift her up and heal her mind, body and soul. Please strengthen her and her family and give them what they need to get through this incredibly difficult time. Pour out your blessings on this family and watch over them and heal her from this disease.

In Jesus's name,
Amen.

I will continue to pray for Cassidy and her family. I hope for a full recovery for this beautiful little girl.

That is a very sad story, and we will keep this family in our prayers. May the Lord grant stength to this father and may he pour out His grace upon him, may this father lean heavily upon the Lord and may the Lord hold him in the palm of His hand.

God bless this child Cassidy, and keep her strong, Lord we ask that you would grant success to this transplant and that this child who is loved would be healed of her sickness. Grant wisdom for her doctors as they treat her and pour out Your grace and mercy upon all of her family.

Lord place this family upon our hearts that we might not forget them in our daily lives, remind us to pray for them.

Amen

Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd post an update on Cassidy. Here is the latest entry from her online journal that her parents update regularly. Please keep her in your prayers! Thank you!

It is normal for Cassidy's ANC to fluctuate some. We had a test done that we didn't even know they were doing and had we known, we'd have had you pray because it was a very important test to see how well the transplant was working. We have just been so busy dealing with the RSV and they have said that the transplant was going well. She had her chimmerism test done. This test shows how much of the bone marrow in her body is hers as opposed to how much is the donor's. They look for results anywhere between 95% and 100% donor cells. Cassidy's results came back 100% donor cells. Praise the Lord! Please continue in your prayers for Cassidy (and, of course, her friends) as we have seen God's hand moving in her body as a direct result of those prayers. There are still battles to be won so keep praying.

Tonight, Cassidy was the most herself she has been in weeks. She sat in the bathtub and I brought my computer in and sat on the floor and we watched EMMA Episode 1 of the PBS version. We laughed and loved watching it. She tends to take two hour baths anyways and had already been in for some time when we decided to watch the movie. She is very close to not needing oxygen anymore. As a matter of fact, she really only needs it when she is very relaxed or sleeping. Right now she is watching the olympic ice skating and maintaining around 92% - 94% oxygenation. She needs to be maintaining at least 95%. I'm hoping that after tonight, she won't need oxygen anymore. They have also lowered her morphine and nausea medicines and her level of comfort does not seem to have been compromised. She does still deal with both pain and nausea so please pray that those will dissipate soon.

Once again, I cannot express the gratitude for your thoughts and prayers. It is wonderful to feel God's love and care through His saints.

Here is the latest update on Cassidy. The Lord has heard our prayers!!

Dear Friends,

The computer is hard to see through my tear-filled eyes as I, once again, report that God has chosen to grant our great petition. After waiting for nine days for the results of our bone marrow test and MRD, we saw Dr. Leong today. He informed us that the MRD (minimum residual disease) was negative- meaning there is no leukemia- and also that her cells are 100% donor cells. These are the best possible results we could have gotten. In November 2009, the medical outlook was grim. We sat in a room with two doctors, a nurse practitioner and a nurse where they informed us, in no uncertain terms, that Cassidy's chance of beating the leukemia this time around was small. But God, in His abundant mercy, chose to allow Cassidy to beat the odds, first when she went into remission in January and now when her transplant is 100% a success. We pray that He will continue to show His mercy in keeping her body Leukemia-free forever!

For the past several days, as we awaited our results, Savannah and McKenzie would ask if we heard Cassidy's test results yet. They have carried the burden heavy on their hearts as long as we have. I had them on speaker phone today to tell them the news and I barely got the words out before they squealed with joy. How exciting it is when God says "YES"!

Thank you all for your continued prayers. We are so blessed to have such wonderful prayer warriors in you all. We love you!
