I may lose the engraving but its worth a shot!! The Grant will only be the backup device when Transformer comes I won't be trying any tricks on that until I am sure I have the right materials

Aww, frog... aren't you a dear?! I used your method and I must say my GG is lookin' GOOD.

That is a beautiful GG. When I get my GG-T Im going to try your method.....did you first buff it out then use the brass shiner or just used the buffer.

Grimmer yes indeed, I buffed first then used the polish. The brass parts dont come any more shiny with the brasso but the aluminium tube comes a little more slick with it.

Hear, hear!! (Or is it here, here? I never could figure that out - heh.) At any rate, I agree that frog is a top notch gentleman.
Dont try to shiny the GG with a file for nails or with any other stuff exept ointment. If you want to shiny it with sandpaper, it can only be done on a lathe and with a 1200 or more sandpaper

I think he means a light polishing compound, nothing with too much cut

I was one of the few that got one of the hurriedly finished ones with quite a lot of surfaces scratches on it. So off I went today to my local supermarket & bought a pack of 3 nail buffers for £1.69 - result, my GG now looks as good as Frog's GG
