again i ask you,what assault?
the OP said the guards thought he had laser pointer,
grabbed him and removed him.
regards
mike
They tackled him, put him in a choke hold and then dragged him. If that's not assault, I don't know what is.

You asked.

Note: clearly states they may NEVER use, no circumstance exists in which a security guard can use excessive force. The fact that they had multiple guards on the guy and he has visible skin abrasions screams excessive force.

Of course it does state reasonable force may be used. Now we get to go down the rabbit hole of what is considered reasonable force.

Probably, but what did you do. The perpetrator always does nothing. I would be surprised if he was just vaping that caused it.
When I was 19, I attended an Iron Maiden concert in San Antonio with a friend. We were watching the band, when a security guard came over and asked to see my friend's ticket. He pulled it out and held it up for the guard to see, but didn't take his eyes off the band. He was grabbed in a headlock and dragged to the railing by the stage. The last thing I could see was my friend being literally thrown over the railing into the backstage area.
I left and met him outside. He wasn't seriously hurt, but it sucked that we had to miss a concert we paid for because a security guard got his feelings hurt.
I'm not surprised by this story at all. Happens all the time.

Actually they grabbed him from being on a hillside. Could be they then fell down the hill. We get a few paragraphs and already we know all the details. I'd rather know all the facts instead of instant media gratification.

Considering the security guard was told it was a laser by one of rocks staff, it would seem the guard thought it was a laser. Next time let me know how well your eyesight is after a high powered laser pointer is shined in it.
It clearly states in the story that it was NOT a laser pointer. It was an ecig, which is why we're having this discussion on ECF.

You would instantly close your eye and move your head if the laser was shined in your eye.

I wouldn't say all the time. At a drive in movie back in my teens. The security guards went up to one of my friends who was sitting there watching the movie. He was our driver. The other 5 of us were drunks causing a rucous. They kicked him out then I got kicked out because I ran my mouth. It happens but I wouldn't say all the time. Mace is the worst though. Man that stuff just sucks.

Have you been to that venue? The hill isn't that steep.

The article clearly quotes the victim saying he was "..grabbed by the neck and dragged..."

That's why I said there appears to be grounds for a lawsuit.

Nothing presented even remotely justifies security grabbing a victim by the neck.

All over a vape?

Of course no person have ever stretched the truth. There are never 2 sides. The media doesn't put up attention grabbing headlines.

There could be something there. Wait till the facts come out.

Chipotle.
That's why we have courts if he decides to pursue it. They will decide.
Exactly what I'm saying. He should file assault charges on the security guard that injured him and sue the company that provided security.
Realistically I personally think that it won't even make court, if the guy makes enough stink he'll eventually get enough $$ to shut him up. Many of those corporate lawyers charge in the multiple hundreds of dollars an hour and depending on the monetary amount that will satisfy the guy the event coordinators will lose less money by simply paying him to forget it happened rather than paying outlandish lawyer rates for who knows how long to fight the guy in court.

That I will agree with.
