Calling all dna20 users! I need some help! I recently purchased mcm #138 (dna20 w/ single 18650). It looks great but I'm having some issues with the battery life. Right now I'm using a atomic dripper with a 1.5 ohm 10 wrap 28ga micro coil. I've been using it from about 13 to 15 watts. With this setup I'm having to use 3 18650's just to make it through the day. The batteries I'm using are 1 aw imr and 2 Panasonic cgr's ( the grey ones ). So far I'll get the check battery message at 3.9 volts with the panasonics and 3.85V with my aw imr.
What is everyone else getting out of there batteries?
Is this normal with this coil? Is it the batteries?
This is my first dna20 so I really have nothing else to go on. Any help would be much appreciated. :)

I'm getting a little over a day with the Panasonic NCR18650PF batteries, but my power needs are much different than yours. I use carto tanks with 3.2 ohm cartos at about 8.5 watts. The NCRs are rated at 2900mAh, so they might help your situation over the 2000mAh batteries you're currently using.

I don't know about Dna20's specifically, but that's pretty normal for regulated devices if you're using a rebuildable with micro coils.

Edit - let me add that with the other regulated devices you'll notice a big drop off at 3.7-3.8v. I'm guessing the Dna20 cuts off when it can't give you 15w, but the other devices usually give you whatever it can until their 3.2v cutoff.

When it stops firing at 15watts, if you turn the power down will it fire? My guess is that when trying to reach the 15 watts your battery voltage drops enough that the DNA wont fire. If you turn the wattage down some it should still fire. Like BuGlen said, I would suggest the NCR PD's or PF's with a higher MAH. Also like BuGlen I vape at lower wattages so I cant really compare my experience. Im not a very heavy vaper at all so I can get a day with only one battery change in the evening.

NCR18650PD 18650 Panasonic Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Flat Top

I've had the most success @ 15W-20W using the above in my MCM's. I also have the 2250 IMR Panasonics(gray jacketed) that do very well. The Orbtronics (black jackets) are pricier and not any better IMO if as good. Most disappointing batteries I've used are the MNKE 26650's that I originally used in my MCM26650 but have pretty much retired them to the kitchen drawer.....could barelly handle 15W on the same coil setup. I really like my 26650 though due to it's size I just don't use 26650's in it.

Well I did a little experimenting. I've been vaping no problem at 10 watts at 4.0V. I just bumped it up to 15 watts and the battery went to zero in three drags. I lowered to 10 watts and now I have half a battery left. Sooo, I guess I'm definitely gonna need to invest in some new batts if I wanna run higher watts.

Matt mentioned the PF's.....link to where I got mine below. They have quite a nice selection of battereis. From what I saw Orbtronic no longer offers the green jacket Panasonic PF's though they use too. Same battery as the Orbtronic PF's

Matt, any DNA 20's on the near horizon? With flat button?

Next batch or two will be all DNA30's so everyone can have a chance to try out the new regulator. After that I'll do some 20's again. I'll do some more flush button mods in the next several batches.

Im waiting on some parts right now, so it could be a week or so before I have any mods for sale.

Would any of those parts happen to be some 801 connections? ;)

Im waiting on a few of those. But the main thing is magnets. I cant build anything without magnets. I was supposed to get some a few weeks ago but they never showed up. I ordered more from several other sources hoping one of them will come through soon.

Don't worry, I didn't forget about the 801's. :)
