I will have 3 wood mods and 4 or 5 printed mods. If the weather is nice when I'm making the next batch it will probably be all wood mods.

Yay me!! I guessed the hell outta that one...on a serious note though, thanks for the hard work. I'm hoping to get one of the wood ones but maybe I can pick up one of each?!?!?!

Matt, were you able to put a charger port in the printed mods?

Not this time around. My idea for the charger is to put studs on the bottom of the mod and build a charging stand for it. Unless the onboard micro-usb charger is more convenient. Still not sure how I want to go about it. Im definitely open to any ideas around the design of a printed mod.

That is quite a cool concept

It just seems more convenient to me to put a mod in a stand and it charges, Similar to a walkie talkie. And maybe the stand could have a spot to hold a few batts or something. Maybe custom stands with your name printed into it or something. The sky is the limit. :)

Question matador. Could there not be a wire from the onboard USB charge port to a magnet in the bottom Of the mod then another magnet on the charging stand, that when they are put together they finish the circuit and charging begins.. I'm no engineer or electrical expert but the idea sounds cool.

Edit:iPhone auto correct blows

Agreed. I think the appeal of an onboard charger is to act as a pass through.

That could work, but soldering to a magnet is tricky. They can easily lose their magnetism with excessive heat. I tried building a wood pipe a while back using magnets to hold the lid where the magnets were also the switch legs and couldn't for the life of me get the magnets to maintain their magnetism afterward.

That is a really cool concept. The printed mod justs looks perfect to travel with. I am thinking, mod, battery and the mini usb cord. I travel a lot, and that looks to be a perfect size.

Dna30 on the go!!!

how about a retractable usb cable built inside the mod.. If I use Lipo cells I could probably get the mod small enough to make that work.

I can make one however you want. I'll start working on integrated charger mods in the next batch.
Well...it looks like I'll be buying twice in a row! My wife is going to hate...YOU! I have no self control when it involves a hobby. I need to work on that, but in the meantime...you profit off of my weakness. Lucky you.
