Ok. I didn't know which telescope was being referred to as the two posts just said telescope. As for the smok tele, is the no wires version v2 or something else? I was under the impression the newest version has no wires. God only knows what people are actually selling though.

Not that I am planning on getting one, but it's probably good info.

True, very true.I did know they removed the wire in the revisions at some point either so i learned something new today.

It may just be me, but I feel like there is something wrong with naming a mech mod "Rebuildable." It implies that you will assuredly HAVE to rebuild it later if not sooner. One major point of a mech is durability, and even though it is probly just a simple swap of a switch, I would't want to have to keep "rebuilding" it!

I don't think think they mean it in that sense. What they probably mean is it can be fully disassembled, replacement hardware wouldn't be too hard to come up with (should the need arise), and there is nothing to solder. As an example, my Natural can be fully disassembled right down to the center positive pin and switch assembly, with large flat head screws that can be replaced if necessary, whereas my KTS/CCST/Chi Chi (whatever you want to call it) can only be taken down to the switch and the negative post spring is soldered onto the post. The positive pin is pressed into a silicone sleeve and is non-adjustable just like any other mod. All in all, the Natural would be much easier to repair without "specialty parts" if such a need were to arise.

Yup, the natural with a slr dc terminator-c has become my first mod to reach for lately. I have sanded down the positive and switch contacts and converted the negative pin to a solid brass post. Also trimmed the switch spring and extended it back out as per another poster and the switch is easier to push. Honestly I wasn't too impressed before these mods, but after I did them I didn't even have to check voltage drop, the vape was much more powerful and better yet, consistent. With a freshly built 0.9 ohm aga-t+ and fresh MNKE 18650 I am getting 0.37V, before it was closer to 1.0V but I think a lot of that had to do with the AGA-T needing a scrubbing and running dry.

In terms of mech mods you need to address the concerns that you will have in terms of your vaping style. For example battery life. If you want to be able to get all day use and your a heavy vaper then you will need a mod to that will take a longer mah battery not a 18350 unless you want to be swapping batterys every few hours. As mentioned before getting a telescoping mod is the way to go. I love my ggts and it takes a huge range of batteries. If you looking at one with wires in it then dont buy it because its not a TRUE mech mod. Another thing to consider is performance. At a minimal you want solid brass contacts. I would not get plated contacts unless silver, stainless is ok but not as conductive as brass. If you can find silver plated like on poldiac then thats about the best you can get with the exception of gold plated. Brass is usually the standard and performs well. Be careful of china mods as they tend to use the cheapest material they can find. I damaged the brass firing pin on my ggts and could only find stainless replacement and i can tell the difference, hopefully get a brass on when they are available again. I guess it really comes down to your budget. If you want something nice and have the money to spend i would get a ggts, poldiac, caravela(if you can find someone to sell you one) EA telescoping mod, I hear Precise is nice, Atimizoo, or GP, ect. I just got a piccolo v3 and its freakin nice. with a penelope or spheroid on top it rips hits and last a good bit for me on a 14500 600mah battery. If your on a budget then some of the mid range mods previously mentioned are a good deal. I do find with the more you spend the better quality and performance you will get. Just be careful of china knockoffs, they tend to look nice and perform like crap

Silver and copper are actually better conducters than gold. The reason gold plating is used in high quality projects is because it does not oxidize and will not interfere with other semi conductors that might be present.

For our purposes ... silver and copper are actually better.

Having said that, you are still going to be bound by the materials in your atomizer. You could have an all-silver mechanical mod and still experience voltage drops because your atomizer is made of less conductive material.

Atmizoo was nice enough to send me a rhodium and silver springs along with the brass spares I had ordered. So I bet if you were ordering from them and asked, they are available.

The voltage drop on my sterling silver mech mod is .2 which we tested on a .9 ohm coil. Yeah I agree that there'll still be some resistance due to the atomizer contacts. But having silver contacts makes a lot of difference and I've even made sterling silver springs and contacts for my cheapo stainless mod.

I get under a 0.3 voltage drop on a chrome plated brass CCTS with a Mini DiD clone @ 0.9 ohms.

When you think about it ... that extra ~0.1 volts is equating to less than half a watt. Hardly a massive difference for the majority of people ... especially on a genesis atomizer.

Total cost of that setup was $39.

I think you can add SuperT Precise+, and soon the ELA tele... with Rhodium contact materials... the tele function is super smooth. USA made, quality and customer service and warranty is the best; good price and coming out in few weeks... they have pre order now... or did i already say that... i'm psyched.
