This is what's going to happen in Reoville when the Woodvils and kits hit the shelves:

I am just curious how difficult it will be to install for us not-so-handy types? The numbers look fantastic!

Uhhh....have you read Rob's posts? I am betting it is two little screws, put a new spring in and a new upper assembly. The fact that he is doing it and the whys and hows tell me he is totally after giving people what they want and saving them from trying to do what some of the advanced modders can do safely. Some can't replicate those mods, some can. He is getting the results to the rest of us. Many thanks are due to the envelope pushers and the mod master.

The negative contact the spring will be no different then changing a standard spring . The positive contact will require more skill . I will make a how to video and anyone not comfortable doing it themselves can send them to me for a retrofit

Noalox-wise . . .. . .here's what I'm reading . . . .

Wiki

It's a different kind of sparking, I believe, . . . .. but, maybe . . . .

The non-sparking of berylium copper is when used for hand tools such as wrenches. These are often used in volatile environments like coal mines to prevent explosions. Using steel on steel can create sparks, leading to a fire hazard.

It is also used as a strong, conductive spring finger for high frequency RF applications requiring shielding on moving guards of the equipment.

It can spark electrically under the right conditions, but I don't think it will have that problem in the Reos, as the frequency is zero, and total power is very low.

Sent from somewhere on planet Earth.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but is the button going to see an upgrade? Not that I'd ever melt a button (sarcasm), but something more heat resistant seems like a good fit with the new contacts.

hmmmm . .. . getting some PTFE in the mail from a monkey friend . . . . .. just setting up lathe for stupid drip tip project . . . .. . might make a tester button. (unless laziness wins the hand)

ADDIT: actually, that would be a waste of time. It's a no-brainer. Teflon would be good. (might make my own, tho)

. . . . and then, I may be getting some button-modding magic from Texas . . . . ?

Is the entire country not working? anyway HRH mailed it Monday i think - well whenever she said, cos she's reliable like that!

ptfe has a higher melting point than delrin, (620 v 347F). I still doubt it could take the mechanical abuse because it wears out too fast for 800 button pushes a day and just ptfe alone will 'creep' with heat.

Might be tough to lathe the PTFE i'm sending Dibby. It's 1/4" x 1/2"

As fas as the fuse block thing goes, It's been fun tinkering and creating one, but with the numbers you've posted on these new contacts... I honestly don't see the need for a fuse mod.
hes a Jedi he will make do .
I believe I have some in the shop I could make a couple and see how they like to be cooked
