I haven't had to use any but like I said I dont go low like you guys . I am happy with a 1 ohm coil . I would think the noalox would help with the sparking
It won't hurt, I'll still use noalox or order Deoxit and use that.

The big benefit I expect is not that it won't need Noalox but that I won't need to do a cleaning and noalox every week, once a month of every two will be great.

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
In a reo the button top fits into the recess in the delrin cover thus it sits higher. The body of the VTC5 batteries are about 3/32 longer than the body of the AW IMR 1600. There is still 2.5 to 3/32 left of compression in the old spring with the VTC5 installed. I've never collapsed a spring so I'm not sure if that is enough room, but I'll probably run them also.

I was wondering about the nipple length but figured if people are willing to take the risk so be it :)

Got the kit in the mail today, after almost giving up on that stupid insulator on the 510 connection, the rebuild is complete. Oh how much harder she hits. Put a .3 ohm 26g parallel microcoil on at first, just a tad to warm for me in the Cyclone so I went with a .5ohm microcoil...she's a chuckin the vapor.

I've had a very busy day so I haven't had time to post. I did install the kits in 2 of my Reos. Wow they hit hard. I may have to adjust my coils. But I think I'll give it a couple of days.

It's hard to believe a couple of pieces of different metal can make such a big difference, but they do. These are like completely different mods now. I'm impressed.

Rob you truly are the Mod Master.

On the site it's saying
"ll the mods on the site have upgraded copper beryllium gold plated contacts
The push buttons have been upgraded to a high heat plastic

Have the springs been upgraded to the gold spring?

Is there anything missing from the units for sale that are in the Sub Ohm Kit?

Meanwhile, in Metropolis...

Mama calmly sits back, biding her time, waiting for the widows (of the over-enthusiastic lung-burners) to post upgraded Reos for a pittance in the classys...
:)

Just got the kit installed. 20 minutes tops and she got a bath.
Are you ready for this?
Omega Clone .39 ohm dual coil
Sony VTC4
4.2 volt UNLOADED
3.92 loaded
3.74 at the posts
.18 voltage drop !!!!!
Sparking like a ..... Used my metal file for my old contacts to make sure the top of the battery was clean. Bottom was perfect.TRA SL Grand
Other than the sparks HOLY @$!#.

Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

This info is gold!

3.74V at the posts with a 0.39 ohm coil = 9.59 amps flowing

Voltage drop within the mod (not counting the battery) 3.92V - 3.74V = 0.18V

Resistance within mod 0.18V divided by 9.59 amps = 0.019 ohms.

19 milliohms for the whole mod including the battery spring, firing pin and 510 connection to the atty! That is very very good. Awesome, Rob!

Yes i think I will do that - after several attempts , the thin gasket kept getting rolled up over the pinhead and got weak and broke in two pieces. I will just send it the kit and mod to you to be installed. Ill pm you .Thank You.
I would box up that mod and send it to me . If your following the videos instructions you shouldn't be having problems . How can you ruin the thin gasket that thing is teflon and it pretty tough ?

I have 2 kits on the way, but I'm going to return them to Rob when they get here. I'll put a note in the box asking him to polish the contacts and return them to me. Rob loves to polish. I should have thought to ask when I made my order.

Polish the contacts? What will that do?

And before this gets out of hand...

DO NOT POLISH, FILE, OR USE CORROSIVE/ABRASIVE CLEANERS ON YOUR CONTACTS.

I'm just picking on Rob. He has commented more than once that he hates polishing metal Reo bodies, and the thought of him polishing tiny little strips of metal and battery springs amuses me. I'm kind of twisted.

Carry on.
