Yes, I've tried the PTD mod on the eGo automatic. Flavor comes through a little more, it has a nice draw (for me), and the carts can get a couple of extra drops. Of course there's nothing wrong with the default arrangement either, unless you simply don't care for polyfill. Though I will say that even if that's the case (as was for me), give these carts a chance. You know when the carts are empty, and when you pull out the poly to refill, there's very little liquid that didn't get used.
The only thing I've thought of doing is getting the mega atomizers and mega carts from Totally Wicked, though there are a lot of mixed reviews about what, if any, benefit they yield. Again, you'd probably be just fine with the default arrangement.
Could it be that this is a kit that you simply don't have to mess with? I'm thinking so...
I don't have to worry about PCC's and swapping batteries at work. One assembled unit and a bottle of liquid is all I need to carry on the go. The eGo even keeps up with my marathon vape sessions at night. After one initial charge, I was able to drain a battery in four hours (of very heavy usage), and by that time the other had long been charged and ready to swap. Way less hassle than my usual ritual.
I'm definitely a very satisfied customer. My only gripe is that the kit didn't come with a spare atomizer and another sleeve, so that I could share with a friend. Ideally I'd like to be able to give my spare to someone at work and just retrieve it at the end of the day. I could probably sell 4 or 5 people who have tried e-cigs and gone back to smoking because of performance, leaky cart, and charge issues that the eGo has fixed for me.
I couldn't ask for a better product. It'd be well worth it at twice the price.
