Man...

Now only I realize, there are 2 version of Merlin RTA, the one version sold in China is almost double the price of what I have bought (export version).

The version sold in China has both short and long glass tank both with a spare tank that total up to 4 glass tanks in the box.

I can't even find my version in Taobao.
How dare they assume foreigners are all cheapskate!
Any idea where this version is for sale

@Cumulo Vapus how did your build work out?

Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good…I just fired it up a few minutes ago….reading 1.78 ohms on my pico and vaping at 10W..beautiful.
No leaks…wicking is smooth and the flavour is definitely a bit more intense than my nautilus prebuilt coils. I like everything about this tank but the drip tip is definitely not for mtl…Ive had to all but close off the airflow to get a decent mtl with the airflow reducer in place. Definitely need to get another one in black.

I like to take my tanks off a mod overnight to prevent leakage….do I need to close off the jfc before storing it upside down?

I close the JFC and store it right side up. I never close the AFC

i close the afc on all my rta anytime I close the jfc. that way if I go to take a vape and forgot to open the jfc I will know and won't run the wick dry.

A replacement DT is helpful not only just for MTL. I threw a dotmod on it and am very pleased.

That's actually a good idea. I have made that mistake a time or two. Lol

I clicked on that like, all I saw was:
Petri Wide Bore Drip Tips: $24.95
That's an expensive drip tip! Not sure I would be able to appreciate whatever difference it may offer?

I think it does make a difference, but I went with this one Petri 510 Aluminum Drip Tip for $0.76 it's a nice DT. :D

Im considering trying a slightly more compressed coil in my merlin next….this is 7 wraps of 30AWG….really crap work….since my UD coiler doesn't work for such thin wires, I had to do it by hand.

Im wondering how something like this might turn out….clearly the surface area in contact with the wick will be far less than a spaced coil….any idea if this will work…or is it a disaster in the making?

That's better, you could buy 33 at that price, compared to the original, and in a blind test, you probably would never know!

Yeah, I bought several and thy work just fine. Can't predict how the finish will stand up over time, but for the price it's not an issue for me.

It will work. What's the wire, SS or Kanthal? Once you mount and heat it a little manipulation with tweezers and it should be fine.

It's Kanthal….last time I get 30AwG though.

Be glad you're not trying to mount that in something like the Serpent mini. I could barely get a 28G to catch properly. At least you won't go nuts trying to mount it in the Merlin. Hopefully.

I would be careful about overtightening the screws, as I can see that as easy for the screw head to cut through.
