I just looked and no one found a replacement tip.
I have been using the supplied notch coil and the flavor was OK. I have always built tight coils for all my Attys. I decided this time to build a spaced coil. Wow the flavor was much better so I put them in all my Attys. No question in my mind that it improved the flavor in them all.
Attys in my current rotation. 2 Subtank minis,1 Merlin, 2 kayfun V3 clones, and 1 Lemo 2. I still think the Kayfuns have the best flavor but the airflow is not quite as open as I like.

thanks, I did a search after our conversation and did find a link to some dotmod tips that aren't the same shape but should give similar performance and I already had some in my FT cart for my next order. I haven't tried a spaced coil yet but it sounds like I need to give it a try. Might finally have a use for that artistic wire gizmo thing I bought off amazon.

    Somewhere between here and there
I used to only use tight wrap coils that I made with Kuro coilers. I started keeping wire and wick at work and started making spaced coils by hand with a drill bit. I think you folks are right about better flavor. I also noticed a big improvement using Clapton wire instead of single strand.

I used my Kuro and just gently stretched the coil on the winding shaft. Worked perfectly. I agree Rick the more I think about it the more I realised the benefits it affords. The coil is much wider while keeping a lower resistance. I have also noticed the ability to raise the wattage without burning the wick or increasing drastically the warmth of the Vape. I like a cooler Vape. You could have told me sooner Rick!:p:)

I still haven't tried multi-wire coils yet. I like to use 30g Kanthal and SS and low watts to preserve battery life. Might try crazy wire styles someday.

The knurled juice ring has a groove on the bottom that looks like it needs a oring, groove too deep and wide for the orings supplied. I bought a stash of orings from the auto store eons ago and they are much thicker than atty orings. I sized one up that was taller than the groove height but not big enough to sit in the groove without popping out so I put it on the post part of the assembly and pushed the JFC down and felt it force the oring into the groove and I can feel it grabbing as I'm turning the JFC.

FWIW, the factory ring that goes into the groove between the AFC and JFC rings is an 18ID x1.2.

If yours had no ring then it likely leaked like a sieve.

I took merlin #2 apart a bit ago and lo and behold it has a oring on the bottom of the JFC while merlin #1 didn't. With or without that oring both merlins seeped. This newly discovered JFC oring isn't thick enough to stop the seeping, put a straightedge across and the oring turtles into the groove..useless oring that IMO just floats rather than seal.
Back to merlin #1 that I tried to fix the other day with a automotive oring, it did eventually seep again but not as bad as before so using the smaller thicker oring slowed down the seeping but didn't stop it. Since I have them both apart I'm now going to try a regular thin RDA and the thicker oring together and hope this might stop the seeping...if not then I'm finished hassling with them and buh bye onto the shelf. No way in he11 I'm going to sacrifice my expensive mods to a half azzed atty that leaks cause of poor manufacturing practices.
FWIW I would safely say that eventually all the merlins whether V1 or V2 are eventually going to seep through the pressfit just from regular use.

I tend to agree with you. Loved them at first,i have two but over time i am getting very slow seeping or condensation. I have now shelved them for Sxk and Tobeco Kayfun V5 clones. The difference is night and day. No leaks at all, better flavor and fully able to take every piece apart. Also all spare parts are easily available.

i feel like the seeping get gradually worse as time goes by from a fresh build. i think it has to do with unscrewing the top cap when going to fill it. both of my merlins do it but it is fine after the first couple fills then they piss themselves. my bachelor also does it. these were the perfect tanks too. guess i need to start looking for other single coil tanks.

My kanger subtank mini's have been flawless in the last year or so my wife and I been using them. The RBA is easy to build and they are simple refilling for my tootle puffin wife's 1.5ohm 30 gauge coils. Sit down, build, wick and ready to vape within a few minutes. I did buy a couple TFV4's but their finicky wicking and random dumps of juice for no reason so they don't leave the house if they ever get used again...shelved.
I'm super happy with the subtanks performance since the only time I hear my wife is when its time to build her a new coil or when she's opening her last jug of juice.
This is my 3rd pair of bum attys in 3+ years. My first was a Fasttech YUK atty that didn't even
see juice since my PT heads didn't fit, then the TFV4's and now the merlins are on the block.

What vg ratio are you guys with leaking issues using? I was under the impression that the oring inside the press fit rings was to add tension not to stop leaks. How is juice making its way down there?
    70vg/30pg usually

I just took mine apart again so I could try to understand how it could seep from in between the juice control and airflow control ring. It looks to me that the only way that could happen is if the lower build deck oring wasn't sealing.
@TrollDragon Is this where yours is leaking from?
