I've had both mine apart but never had to add anything to stop any leaks. Might need to be pressed more???Got a question fro anyone who's taken the base of their Merlin apart to try and fix the seepage problem.
I just took mine apart and added an additional o-ring on the shaft of the deck piece that slots into the knurled JFC ring….it held well. And Im getting the far better tension on the afc and jfc while turning them.
I won;t know if it works yet since I cant use mine …..waiting on a replacement 510 screw that got stripped.
Now, how do I know if I have achieved a really tight press fit when putting it together?
Right now my inner juice flow hole sits slightly higher than the outer juice hole by a couple of mm…..does this mean I have to tap it down some more?
Anyone?

My last merlin build was triple twisted 28g that came out to 0.34 ohm, I forget how many wraps as it and my griffin are on the side lines due to weeping/leaking and will likely get washed and stashed away.Has anyone tried twisting two strands of 28g ss wire and wrapping a coil with that? Does it fit well into the grub screws? I twisted some wire last night, and plan to give it a try later...(Unless someones tried it and had a negative experience with it.)
Mine also had some small shavings in various places preventing it from seating properly. If it is fit together properly you have zero need for any added o-rings beyond what is installed by Augvape.
Lol, I was just thinking to myself and briefly thought about braiding 3 strands together, but I figured it would probably be too thick and rigid and wouldn't coil very well.My last merlin build was triple twisted 28g that came out to 0.34 ohm, I forget how many wraps as it and my griffin are on the side lines due to weeping/leaking and will likely get washed and stashed away.
I usually do 3×28. That and 26g parallel have given me great vapes on the Merlin.Lol, I was just thinking to myself and briefly thought about braiding 3 strands together, but I figured it would probably be too thick and rigid and wouldn't coil very well.
Thanks, I'll give it a try tonight.I usually do 3×28. That and 26g parallel have given me great vapes on the Merlin.

That pin is what stops the air control ring from spinning. Don't lose it, I dropped one and it took forever to find it in my carpet...When i removed the afc ring from the body to clean, a tiny metal pin came away....i didnt know if it was a metal shaving but didnt throw it.....while i checked.
The tank body over which the afc ring slots on had a small indentation that seemed to house this pin....so i just put it back there.....i hope i did not just put back a metal shaving that was preventing a perfect fit...lol.
Has anyone else come across this tiny pin while disassemblng? It cant be more that 1-2 mm in length.

I've been refilling mine by taking the base off and filling the tank upside down thru the liquid feed holes with needle bottles. I like to inspect my coil and wicks often so I just decided to fill them while the base is off.Lol...thanks ricks....i nearly had mine go down the sink....
This is a strange tank indeed....its so damn hard to open the top fill cap and unscrew the deck without hassle...maybe its just my piece.
That itty bitty pin is just stuck in the hole and very easy to loose. I had mine dance across the wood floor and took forever to find it.Has anyone else come across this tiny pin while disassemblng? It cant be more that 1-2 mm in length.
