Tried the notch coil but much better with a 24awg ss316 with 4mm id :thumb:

I tried the included notch coil, screws snapped the leads. I had a 5 pack of Wismec notch coils, tried one of those, cut through one of those leads. 3rd coil, I did not tighten as much, those non-resistance leads are THIN. Wicked with cotton, thought I had it nice, impressed with the wide range of airflow, tons of vapor. When I run out of notch coils, I'll probably go back to my 24 gauge titanium wire, had to snap that wire!

Thought I was good for an hour, put it down, DUMPED my 70vg/30pg tank of juice. Going to try a rayon wick today.

Sure did. By accident. Scraps right off with a thumbnail. It started by washing it in my ultrasonic cleaner. I know it cleans my tanks really well. But I didn't expect it to take the film off the tank.

Thanks for the warning, last week I bought my first ultrasonic cleaner, never would have thought of glass tint coming off, though I don't normally put the little glass tanks in the cleaner out of fear of them breaking when contacting the other loose metal parts I'm cleaning in the tank. Good to know though!

I just took a razor blade and scraped mine off. Came off easily and looks better.

The coloring in theirs is integrated into the glass. I have run them through th UC many times.
Great quality of glass.

Thanks, finally someone who knows what they are talking about. They seem to keep up with new models, so for anyone complaining about their cheap colored glass chipping or coming off, you have to pony up to the glass that's properly made. Why am I not surprised that inexpensive Chinese products don't perform up to our spoiled standards?

I have sent him a device before & he will match it to an existing glass, as in my case, or make them if there is adequate demand.

What's the best way to know/test if one has the right oring?
The pieces fit together easy enough and you should fell the drag of the o-ring if not lubed.
It will have no any slack, fits taunt.
For what we are using them for they got it easy and are quite forgiving, a lot of times you can go up or down a size with no problems (id)

From what I have read in this thread folks have said its NOT advisable to attempt to take the base apart, that's where this oring is supposedly located, and Rick waited to get a replacement instead of attempting a take down. I think I'm handy enough to attempt it, but I would wait till I saw a parts breakdown, which I doubt we'll ever see.

Reason I asked, is my JFC ring is not tight, nor is it loose, when closed, I get very little airflow, so even though I ordered it right in the middle of this "issue", I hoped I got a good one. After my first build, and subsequent TANK DUMP, I now wonder? It could have been my wicking, so I'll try again. Just want to know what symptoms to look for, as juice dumping on a mod, is well, UGLY!

The only other flaw has been mentioned before, real easy to lose the top, refill oring as it tends not to stay in its tiny ring collar. I watched for that when I had to clean the entire tank again after the dump, and the oring was not there, looked at the cap, and it was just sitting there, juice holding it. Stay alert when you clean the parts.

If anyone has broken down the base, please tell us how you did it.

I lost the top fill o ring on the initial cleaning. Didn't even realize it was gone until someone here posted a pic. I'm not convinced it's necessary since I've never had a leak and I didn't bother to replace it with the spare.
