First are you guys sure that the JFC ring actually spins 360 degrees all the way around? Check the air flow slots and make sure you are not closing them or un-threading the tank.

Mine looks like its pressed to the deck. Maybe they pressed it on to hard and jammed it to the deck. Thats the only thing that can make sense.

So just to get this right if you screw your atty on to your mod until it is tight then grabbing the glass part only continue to turn it the same way as tightening onto the atty to the mod it will not move? Not trying to be clever just trying to help.
It will move until it is threaded onto the deck. I got the holes to line up, but other than moving on the threads it stops.

Think bottle cap on a Gatorade bottle. It threads down to where its tight then stops. Nothing else turns.. Unless i oil my hands and turn the bottle cap and bottle in my hands which could be the afc.

This is what is confusing me, there are no threads to stop it if you hold only the glass and turn clockwise once the tank is secured to the mod.

Send it to Rick, he LOVES taking things apart, don't know how good he is at putting them back together, doesn't seem like you have much to lose! :)
Lol I saw his Merlin murder pictures. It still works most of the way. I guess it's a little jacked up, but still holds juice and makes vapor.

If the juice ring is jammed the threads are between the tank and deck.

No need to get snotty we are just trying to help.:p
I know im just getting annoyed (and a really long/slow day), feels like I am repeating the issue again and again. Tank only turns on threads, jfc does not turn. I am trying to turn the jfc not the afc.

Im just saying ive tried the simple stuff. I think the ring is/was over pressed or something.

Also i did get the tank to screw down and compress the o ring allowing the holes to line up with it tightened down. The juice ring still does not do anything on my tank.

Do not turn the JFC turn the glass to open the JFC always clockwise. If you go past the holes keep turning the glass the same way until they reapoear.
Cant do that on mine the threads only go so far.
Ill try to heat it up tomorrow in the oven and see if I can get the ring to free.
Any suggestions? Boil in soapy water, oven at 450,whack the crap out of it with a hammer, or wedge a flat blade screwdriver in and move it around. @ricks

You all are scaring me, just a friendy reminder, I swear I turn it anti-clockwise, very gentlely and slowly and I hear a "crack" sound, I am now on my spare glass:

So, be very careful with the Merlin glass tank.:danger:

If you have the tank on while tightening it and it is the tinted tank the tint might crack. Are you just gripping the top tank cap?

I have one of my 5 still taken apart. I will look at it and try to see what could be causing yours to not spin all the way. Be right back
If it helps any when I clean it i just soak the parts in the sink. Last time I did, the air flow was sticking for a while.

I broke it when I try to disengage the top tank cap from the chimney, i.e. I am loosening the top cap. I hold the whole tank with my left hand (except for the top tank cap) then gentlely turn the top cap with the pliers (with the plier nodes into the refill holes, grabing the top cap)

Man... what a gentle crack!
