Improved feature? What would that be?

In general, with the rest of factors remain unchanged, shorter tank=warmer vapor (especially under TC)
shorter tank=better/denser vapor

If you own both, e.g. TFV4 and TFV4 mini, you will easily notice that.

Also that isn't an Augvape product.

How do you know?

I read th article, it is a serious comparison with tables of details for all the 4 RTA. Augvape Merlin is a cheap tank but what has been discussed in the article is not.

Did a search on vapecrawler..... It's running about $30 just about everywhere. I do appreciate the quality. Good threading, good quality materials, it operates well, comes apart easily for cleaning and rebuilding. By far my favorite RTA.

My Merlin is running at 0.34ohms with rayon in TCSS (3x twisted 28ga) mode on my SDNA75 and does the same. Loving Rayon. So glad I made the switch early before I had piles of cotton stocked up.

Slightly off topic but my Billow V3 Plus is running dual pre-coiled hives at 0.12ohm and 70+ watts and wicks like a champ in VW mode. I was going to rewire it today with SS so I could run it in TC mode like the rest of my mods but the hive's dry fired nice and clean so I just re-wicked it and went on my way.
Or mountains of silica. Lol. I feel obligated to use it all before I buy any new wicking material.

I am the same way so I understand. I hate to not use something I paid for.

Currently vaping a combination of 3+ pre-made juices to make one of the 3 vapeable and not really enjoying it. Think I need to dilute it with some unflavored nic base and/or add something else to it to make it less heavy on the tobacco end. I have another similar 100+ml combination of 2 sweet tobacco juices that were too sweet and too heavy on the tobacco that I combined then diluted with unflavored nic base to make more vapeable.

Man...

Now only I realize, there are 2 version of Merlin RTA, the one version sold in China is almost double the price of what I have bought (export version).

The version sold in China has both short and long glass tank both with a spare tank that total up to 4 glass tanks in the box.

I can't even find my version in Taobao.
How dare they assume foreigners are all cheapskate!

Either your physics teacher or mine is a liar.
Try it yourself. Take a 26g 6wrap kanthal
And a 26g 6wrap ss and see what happens. The ss with significantly lower resistance will not need more power than 26g kanthal. I have tried it many times btw.

Your kanthal wire spool is on the Fritz. Lol. Did you accidentally let it all unwind when you opened it? For some reason I am really OCD on stuff like that. I cut extra notches in mine so that I could tuck the wire in there to hold it. Then I can actually unwind the wire at half the diameter of the spool instead of the full diameter. :)

I did that for you brother!
I don't use it to be honest. I did for this exercise though.

I believe my "need" and your "need" is different. By my "need", I mean to achieve almost the same warm vapor and same density of vapor production (in brief the same experience of vaping); NOT just to be able to start producing vapor.

In my case, for SS coil, I always need to set to higher wattage to achieve my "need" as mentioned above.

Btw, I don't need to do the test you have suggested, becuase, there was a period of time (few weeks) that I always build 3mm, 24ga, same wraps of kanthal or SS316L coils and heat the same juice by the same mod (IPV4S). The only thing I "need" to do if I change kanthal coli to SS coil or vise versa is lower or increase the power of my mod.

Sorry, I didn't see your last post when I write this one.
I think I am more sensitive to vapor quality than you, according to the reading you have shown in your last post, I can be sure my juice taste very differently under 3.5V and 4.6V

All good brother. Same coil same mass under the same power. Zero difference with less voltage applied to the coil from the board. There's no wrong way.

I am trying to mix juice in the Merlin. Lol. I wanted to add a little bit more VG to my juice without having to drain it and mix it in a bottle so I am just going to try to close the JFC and vape it till its almost dry and then shake it. That way, in my theory, the juice from the wick and wells shouldn't splash around and flood it.

@trentenmarschel, how's it going with the jfc?
Pretty awesome now that it actually works. I can't turn it counter clock wise cause it would unscrew the tank. But it will turn clockwise. It's still pretty tight, but I guess that just means it shouldn't leak. :)
