Cant believe i was at the point of chucking this tank a month ago….it was seeping annoyingly and then the 510 screw got busted so it was unusable. Had to wait a while before I could receive one . After stripping this down and putting it together I have used it ever single day with no issues except my fingers get liquid residue when I am removing and tightening the base… was also wicking it wrong before….ever since i followed the less wick principle it has been super.
I also shelved both mine after they both started seeping or condensing on the very bottom after a couple of months use.I was using 50 vg/50 pg and 2.5 mm id coils with the restrictor in. Now i have restrictor out and 3.5 mm id coil in using 70 vg /30 pg.I have not had a drop of anything leak out of either in 2 weeks.

God I love this tank. I successfully wrapped (albeit only 3 1/2 out of 10 inches) my first alien clapton and I put on... you guessed it, the Merlin:

Luckily, I used 27g SS 316L for the core wires because this things has a resistance of .11!! I say luckily because I get to run this thing in TC mode and not worry too much about the batteries. An absolute amazing vape. The flavor is beyond good, I feel as though I am drinking the juice.

Now, this baby didn't just slide right into the post holes. I had to coax them somewhat. And by coax them, I mean I drilled out the holes being used to make them fit:rolleyes: I am so glad I did though.

    Very nice!

I must have been tired last night when I recoiled and rewicked my Merlin. I vapes it a little this morning and it seemed fine. I didn't use it at work but grabbed my mod and Merlin to go home and liquid was gushing out of the air holes. I took it apart when I got home and found I must have caught the wick on the sides when putting it back together. The wick was smashed over the airflow hole in the center.

Congrats! Nice job. Nice job drilling out the holes, they look perfect. If I tried that it would have been one ugly scene.

might be too late - only 10 minutes left, flashsale: merlin for 15$ at gearbest:
    Original Augvape MERLIN RTA Atomizer

Edit: They've already done that flash-sale two weeks ago and I've received mine today. It's authentic. Just wanted to order another one and bam, there it was, flash-sale again

They usually repeat some of those flash sales once they expire. Wash, rinse and repeat!. :D

Hello everyone, I'm having an issue with all of my merlins (3 of them).
I vape at TC all the time and usually get a great vape from my merlins, but from time to time, my merlins stops producing a good amount of vapor. If I unscrew and screw the atomizer back to my mod, everything goes back to normal.
I've tried the atomizer in all of my mods (sdna75, therion, evic vtc mini, istick pico and smok quantum) and I have the same issue in all of them.
Usually,it hapens when I knock over my mod accidentally while sitting on my table or sometimes when I'm carrying it on my pocket.
Looks to me like some kind of resistance bump or bad connection.
I've also noticed that the copper 510 pin is getting darker (maybe oxidation).
Overall it's a great RTA, but I'm starting to get sick of screwing and unscrewings the Merlin from my mod so often.
If it helps, I don't have any issue with seeping condensation, my 510 connection is allways dry.
Somebody can help me? Thank you

I think I know what you mean. I'm using both of my Merlins a lot in TC mod and especially with my DNAs I get cold wimpy vapes too often for my liking.

Can't say I've ever experienced that with mine. Granted, since I've owned both the regular version and the new mini, I've only had the SS Notch coils in them, majority of the time I'm in TC mode with no issues. Wish you guys luck!

Solved for one of my merlins (version one).
I took apart the hole base (undoing the press fitting with a vice and a hammer) and cleaned everything.
I noticed two things, the positive pin (the internal one, the one that screws into the positive velocity post) was not tighten enough and was dirty with dry juice on the inside (where the copper screw make contact with it). Also, there was some kind of black ashes inside the velocity posts, where the coil wire touch the post.
Now my merlin is vaping like a champ, very stable vapor production, I even drop it on purpose to check if the issue was still there and nothing.
    Hope it helps.

I finally just received two SS Merlin's from FT. I just finished with my first build. 1.15 ohm, 10 wrap, single 28 gauge SS316L, 4mm ID. I am using the air restrictor for MTL style vaping. I was shooting for 1.4 ohms, but for TC I think 1.15 ohms is fine. It is vaping okay, but I think I could do better for sure. I am still playing with the TC settings. I love that I have topped off this tank several times so far without any leak issues - like I was having with the Goblin Mini V3 and Serpent Mini.

I am posting a pic below to get suggestions on improving my TC MTL build. The flavor is not as good so far as what I could get with either the GM V3 or Serpent Mini, but I had not experimented using SS coil yet with those RTAs. I think I am getting too much coil flavor, and not enough vapor. I may need to use a bit more rayon wick, as it didn't feel quite tight enough going in. I am only running this in SS TC mode on an iStick Pico at around 400F, at about 12W, with 3mg nicotine level 70/30 VG/PG juice, but there is some unexpected harshness to the vape, and I feel there is a lack of vapor density. Below, the coil wrap and spacing is not too great.

Weird. My iStick Pico never reads anything over 1.15 ohms when in SS TC mode (regardless of whether it is locked or unlocked). A 1.4 ohm SS build did not work at all on it - in TC mode anyway (worked fine in wattage mode). This gives me the impression that 1.15 ohms, or something very near it, is the upper SS TC build limit that the iStick Pico has - despite the 1.5 ohms upper limit that is specified in the iStick Pico's user manual (without specifying which type of TC wire that is for). Yet my 1.3 ohm SS build, pictured above, did run in SS TC mode (though no more than 1.15 ohms was ever displayed on the device), so I'm very confused. I think I will be avoiding TC builds for now until I figure out what is up with that, though I certainly would like to do more TC builds in the future.

When I first got my Merlin I tried a 4mm single wire build in it, didn't like it at all.
Flavor just wasn't there. I'd drop the coil to 3mm ID, lower the resistance a bit, and make sure you get that Rayon in it tightly. I think you'll find a nice improvement.

Cool. I will try that out. Thanks.
