Absolutely Tabac Man. I was a regular in the Pub at 15 drinking, my lager and lime, omg disgusting. I have progressed since the mid 70's, some might not think so, to drinking Blue Moon and Shock Top!

Yeah I remember lager and lime. Pretty crud but lager back then was pretty crud, or at least British stuff was.

Michigan Just Became the First State to Ban Flavored Vapes. Will It Actually Work?

But while banning flavored e-cigarettes will undoubtedly prevent new underage consumers from becoming hooked on e-cigarettes, it likely won’t do much to curb the black market proliferation of e-cigarettes, predominantly on the internet, where such markets thrive. “If you ban it in Michigan, people will just go to Indiana and load up their truck with flavored e-cigarettes,” Jackler says. Though he notes that this should not be reason in and of itself not to curb sales at brick-and-mortar vaping stores, he says that a federal ban on flavored e-cigarettes would likely be far more effective (indeed, the FDA has proposed a ban on flavored e-cigarettes, though former Commissioner Scott Gottlieb resigned before such policies could be implemented).

If a local ban won't work, then ...

I live in Michigan and this is absurd. Unfortunately a lot of people here are brainwashed into thinking that vaping is bad for you and upset that children have access to vaping ( which they don’t just like they don’t have access to cigarettes but they get them however they need to).
This literally came out of the blue and will not only get people back on cigarettes, close brick and mortar stores causing less tax revenue for the state, and even banning the ability to purchase juice online.

I have signed many petitions today and have also written a few letters and called the governor’s office.
It is all over the news and they have so many misconceptions about it it’s just insane.
If she still gets what she wants ( The Governor) then all of the shops will have to sell their juice within the next month. I can’t say if they will price gouge or if they will sell at a discount but either way - it is a big blow for vaping and small businesses.

Maybe if they took Vape juice and Juul pods out of liquor stores and gas stations that might deter the underage people who vape. Maybe if they learned more about it they would be less apt to do something so drastic.

Basically they want us to smoke cigarettes with 7000 different chemicals than vape with only a few chemicals.

When I was a teenager I started smoking and honestly if I was a teenager now I probably would still smoke cigarettes because I was always different and didn’t follow trends. Obviously vaping is a trend for teenagers and why should we have to pay because adults can’t deal with their children.

Maybe the governor should ban all cigarettes except for American Spirits because of the chemical content.
I mean they are the only brand that has no additives.

I will end my rant right now but I will put a link up that if you click on it will take you directly to a form letter that you can put your name and address on and it will send a pre-typed letter to our representatives and you can always add something you want to say personally.

Plus you won’t get inundated by messages as you can check boxes if you want messages sent to you.

Vending machines were everywhere. Cigarettes were a Quarter a pack back then. Later, the price was raised to 35 cents. B y the time I started vaping smokes had succumbed to inflation and I was paying about $36 a carton. I needed to quit smoking and vaping was also a cheaper alternative with an obvious safety factor over burning tobacco.

It's too bad that smoking teens are ruining the reputation of vaping by adding illegal substances. The history of experimentation by teens continues.
I remember cigarette machines. I believe when I started smoking they were $1.50 in a machine which was $.50 more than buying them at the store and then when they started phasing them out a pack of cigarettes was about $5.50 and you could get them at the store for $4.50.
I haven’t bought a pack of cigarettes in two years but when I smoked I was smoking Marlboro 72’s and they were short so they were always two dollars cheaper a box. I honestly couldn’t tell you how much they are now except I know regular cigarettes in the state of Michigan are about eight dollars.

I believe they have a location in Ill they purchased a couple years back but they originated in Kentwood Michigan. Dan started out selling out of his house through Craigslist then opened a storefront nearby. They are currently my exclusive vendor.

Got it. Thank you. I wonder if they'll switch their HQ to Illinois? I hope so! Then I can keep buying from them. I love their RY4!

That's probably an old article about different legislation (she did some earlier about carding and under-18 access).

This one hasn't been written yet (confirmed by ear on TV news). Once it is written and published they'll give stores 30 days to use up the existing stock somehow.

Michigan moves to be 1st state to ban flavored e-cigarettes
(Today's video, but older version. There's a newer one that has some vaper's input.)

I thought it the ban was enacted as of today. I am grateful to know I have a little longer to stock up on Ahlusion and Mr. E.

I also believe that we (Michigan) will NOT be able to order juice online from out of state. I will have to go stock up tomorrow and then order supplies to make my own juice!!
Also,

I would like to know of the people that were sick and the one that died. What were they vaping? What brand was it? Did they add something to it? You know the facts so the rest of us can make an informed decision.

They were nearly all vaping the substance that cannot be named in this forum.
The issue is covered in more detail here...

When they tried to stop on-line juice sales to Indiana it didn't affect nicotine base. No idea if that will be the case in Michigan as well. In your position getting nic would be my first move.

It seems like they are planning to allow the sale of unflavored juice, so you could buy flavoring marketed as food flavoring and mix it up. Problem is not many juice vendors would be able to stay in business just selling tobacco and unflavored. Except for Juul I guess.

This is all social engineering. Seems to be happening on both sides of the aisle, however from Dems more.

Remember the Fire Safe Cigs thing? And the lawsuit taxes making it too expensive to smoke? And and and and.

To be remotely fair...the smoking tobacco thing is probably the single biggest/easiest issue, maybe after sugar, that we could address to keep people healthier. That said, so far e-cigs are part of the solution, not the major problem.

This vilification is a lot of presumption and false association. It's too bad that Altria purchased Juul stock and that they are somehow a major target for "vaping" et al. They don't represent vaping to me, nor do I think they speak for vapers, particularly after BT purchased so much of them.

This is all part and parcel and big money and IDK what all else. How much is lip service, how much is social engineering, and how much is just chasing money? Whitmer said something about [paraphrased] "This industry is built on deception...". Well, vaping is NOT smoking, and the industry came up totally differently, and self-regulated from the start. But she doesn't seem to be differentiating.

This timing feels....odd. street-carts causing problems, reactions, BT purchases, more and more "science" released against vaping and IDK who all is funding it. Pending regulation.

It's all very frustrating. Most here long term have been predicting BT taking the industry over. Seems to be rolling ahead full steam.

Yes I’ll probably have to start making my own and but it makes me sad because I know a lot of Vape shop owners who are going to be screwed over if this actually happens

Do you have a source for this? Curious.

I assume BT donates to both parties...but I'm curious now where this came from.
