Some of the heavyweight video reviewers have been posting videos on micro coils. From what I've seen though, the best instructional videos out there have been made by the good folks here at ECF. Many have been posted in the micro coil thread in the RA section, but I'd like to bring them together here as a reference for people new to micros and those who want to perfect the craft. A "perfect" micro coil is a beautiful thing, and with a little guidance, tips, and practice it can also be quite easy to make.

I will be notifying some of the people that have made videos about this thread so they can post here. Also, feel free to add your own micro coil tutorial video. Even something as simple as how to prepare a cotton wick can be a big help to visual learners.

How to build an authentic micro coil video tutorial.

Also here's a size chart to define a micro coil by the inside diameter of the coil. It's in gauge/inches (Decimal) and metric :)

SupX, glad you posted the first vid in this thread. As the original micro coiler and namer of the micro, it's fitting. Great video also.

Duff, thanks for the video, very nice. I do the same trick to tighten up the wraps. I also like doing the extra wraps and pull the wire to unspool the extras. First saw that trick from Stat's video.

Speaking of Stat.. I see you liking posts here.. so post your video :D . Do it, or I'll post it and pretend it's me lol.

My wife has been complaining a little lately that I spend too much time on my phone (ECF). I wonder if mrs stats did that to him and he listened to her like a good husband should? If so, props stats bro. I told my wife to "leave me alone I know what I'm doing" Kimi Raikkonen style. So far she hasn't closed up the Y but if that appears to be happening I may lay lower :)

Great Idea

I want to try micro coil

and how awesome it would be to easily find the video's

it makes it so much easier to learn

Def try it.. no other coil build comes close to the ease, reliablility, consistancy, vapor, and flavor of a micro coil. Either one of the 2 videos so far is enough to make a perfect coil, but it'll be nice to have a few more videos here. Personally I do the coil the same as Duff, but do the cotton a little different like Xobeloot does.

I'll give a few more days for others that I messaged to post their videos; otherwise I'll just repost them. They can be found in the HUGE micro coil thread, but the idea is to have them in one compact place.

Question with cvs cotton balls is it necessary to boil or are they good to go?

First off, the cotton to use is found in the first-aid section, not the makeup second. The stuff in the makeup section may contain other "ingredients" and I have no idea if boiling helps, but best to just not use that type.

Sterilized rolled cotton seems to be the most popular, and haven't heard anyone boil it. If the cotton balls are of the sterilized kind no need to boil. Another type some use (the kind I'm using) is organic cotton balls whitened with hydrogen peroxide. Some boil, some don't. I don't, and I don't notice any unwanted flavors. I want to use the sterilized rolled cotton when I find some.

Xobeloot messaged me to post his cotton video. I really like this vid and have been using his technique of just a whisp of cotton, lightly pressed to shape, and twisting the end to make installing a breeze. The center is kept fluffy, instead of rolling it to make it more dense. Which way is better? No idea, but this way has been working well for me..

Thanks Got! Excellent video.

I'd like to point out for people watching these videos who haven't tried building a micro yet.. These videos go into a lot of detail, pointing out tips and tricks to make a quality micro coil. But notice how quick and easy wrapping the coil, installing the coil, and adding the wick is. It may take a few tries to get there, but it really is something anybody can do; no special skills or mechanical aptitude necessary. And the best part about micro wrapping; it's easy to be consistant. Same great results, same resistance, every time.
