Microcoil and cotton balls on Penelope

for me, the cotton/coil lasts about 2-3 days on my drippers before I need to dryburn coil and rethread a new cotton.

It really depends on the juice you're using IMO. I have a micro coil with cotton that is at least 2 1/2 weeks old and I have not even had to change the cotton (juice is Grenada from elevated vaping). I have another, same setup and both are 1.3 ohms of 28 gage kanthal and I have to change the cotton every 2-3 days and dry burn the coil. That juice is K-Max Menthol from vermilion river. It gets really gunked up and needs a dry burn.

Frank I really like your avatar BTW (brings back memories), I fully agree it's got to have a lot to do with what juice you use. My juice (strapple from Roar Vapor) doesn't gunk up coils much at all

Dual microcoil at 1.5Ω total on Ithaka with .30mm Kanthal as usual but this time with rolled cotton. I should have taken pics dammit but I was watching UFC last night at the same time and I forgot. Great Flavour and vapour production? Well after 3 draws I've got a mist covered room, pretty crazy.

I have a zapper. I hate it. Out of 100 tried I get 1. They always break while coiling. I learnt this new method of zapping after coiling recently but did not have the chance to try it yet. Thanks captain.

I am preparing a new coil for you guys. First trial failed because it turned out high in ohms and broke because of my thin NR wire. I give you a sneak preview in a while.

Yeah I gathered that but the fact that there is no juice feed through it kinda worries me. I don't know may not matter at the end of the day if flavor is good

No need for juice through it. Check old style cartomizers. Also check something called nano dragon coil.

Yes I agree, the first thing that came to mind was the old style cartos. It's just that this thing is gonna run a lot hotter than the carto coil, but I'm not saying it wont work

If your saying this then you have to check the nano dragon coil

I was happy while it lasted . My second trial I will go less cotton, lower ohms and smaller coil.

Aal try and keep your coil around 10 twists or so, should work better buddy. Will give it a go too just for the hell of it

How do you keep the negative wire secure? Do you trap it between the plastic, under the metal housing and the plastic piece?

I actually went back in time and trapped it between the ody drip base and the ring. I needed it to be secure and under the delrin wasn't consistent. You can trap it down there. But be careful not to get close to pos post.

Looks good Bo, I've been running the Ody same way now for 3 days and it's working like clockwork. Not a single dry hit, thick clouds and heaps of flavor. I'm so impressed I opened it up today on day 3 to check what the cotton looks like and it's not even showing signs of being burnt. Looks just like it did when I set it up.

PS I too caught the negative under the ring, makes for a much more secure connection
