You can do the dual 18650 now, I`m pushing for a DNA40 like new chip

You should be able to get 40 Watts from 2 high drain 18350s. Of course 2 18350s are about the size of a single 18650. 40 watts at 8 volts is 5 amps. At 6.4 volts it's 6.25 Amps. That's pushing an 18350 but you should be able to find some that will do that without getting too hot. Battery life is another issue.

Another way is an 800 mAh or so high drain lipo 3S which really aren't that much bigger than an 18650.

The upshot is if you want teensy tiny dna 200 functionality (limited to around 40 watts) it's doable. Evolv is very close to having made the "universal board." If it only had Bluetooth and a tablet/smartphone app, color screen display, . . . . ;)

Try all battery suggestions at your own risk blah blah. :D

The problem is mah, 2 18350 batteries or an 800mah lipo wouldn`t offer a third of what a single 18650 offers in mah
And show me a 800 3s even close to the 18650`s dimensions

This is a photo of an 18650 and the battery Evolv used in the Beta Box and is selling :)
It is bigger but not that much :)

An 800 mAh 3S lipo will provide about the same Wh as a typical high drain 18650 but with an even more favorable discharge curve. 800 x 12.6 = 2,400 x 4.2 etc.

For showing you the battery you desire, your attitude leads me to suggest you go find what you want yourself. There are some that, given the rectangular shape, are "close" in size to an 18650 squared off like the amount of space needed in a box. If that's still not small enough for you, well, yeah, wait and see if evolv does a single battery board with the functionality of a DNA 200. Anything can happen.

Cheers.

As a squonker, the added requirement of a bottle make any additional size requirements for the power supply just too big for comfortable squonking. In addition, I (and many of my regulated squonker friends) don`t come close to approaching 100W for our vaping pleasure, so a DNA40 footprint with the features of the DNA200 should do well for evolv
Remember after the DNA40, evolv released the DNA25

Received my BRD Squonker from Sculpteo . . . . sans the buttons . . . *sigh*

Do I need to put then in a separate file? I can print some in ABS and mail them to you so you can test it out. It has never been built or seen by me!

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I don't squonk and only go above around 50 watts when experimenting or just screwing around with a big build. My thing is I want the highest capacity battery I can reasonably carry for my everyday mod. I bought a SXK nebula for an evening out. Small, heavy but uber cool to me. Don't need DNA 200 magic at the bar lol.

Returning to an earlier suggestion I made, how about 3 18350s? Two stacked vertically and then one beside. The bottle goes above the one beside. You get the capacity of a single 18650 in the form factor of a typical BF mod, but with DNA 200 functionality.

Let me see how quickly Sculpteo responds, but I do appreciate the offer.

Probably would be best to show them more prominently in the render, I can see how they might be overlooked by someone who's never used the term "squonk."

It is a beast. I printed in Alumide because I kind of like the gray and have pretty good luck with just a clear coat. It is very sturdy, you could get away with thinner walls. It is quite wide, also, so I'm wondering how comfortable the single handed squonking will be. It'll probably grow on me as I use it.

That battery from Trossen electronics slid into the slot nicely, though I may have to snip off the balance connector to get it to snap together.

Thanks @SlickWilly & @mikepetro for the heads up, I have some emergency Bondic on the way for Mrs Bad's eye glasses. We are going to a remote part of Scotland in a couple of days and she is still waiting for her new lenses and only has an old pair that I epoxied the bridge on a couple of times and are likely to break any-time.

If any Brits want some I cant praise the customer service from decolumdirect.co.uk highly enough.

I`ve used dual stacked 18350s before, they tend to get hotter then a good 18650, so I would be a little worried using them in a three stack

A decent high drain 18350 should be able to handle about 6 Amps. At 40 watts, the max current needed is a little over 4 Amps from a set of 3 18350s which leaves about a 50% margin for if power is not phased perfectly equally between the batteries. Following good battery "hygiene" and using quality batteries, it should (in theory lol) be A OK. A two stack at 40 watts would have max current of over 6 Amps which is really pushing of not excessive for a pair of "typical" high drain 18350s.

When the 2 stack got hot, do you know the total wattage they were producing? I'm interested because of a certain pipe mod idea I've been toying with.

Semi retirement has made me lazy. Mostly vaping the nautilus and atlantis TC, but I finally had to see what all this cloud busting was about. I wrapped a dual coil 12 wraps each of 26g NI at 3mm and hit it with 80 whatts, 430F and .09ohms on a 200 DNA. WOW
