You get to be a modder and figure out how to mount the 18650's and what they will fit in lol. As long as they are wired in parallel and the polarity is right you can do what ever you want. Mamu has a thread on reverse polarity protection. Figure out how you want to mount them and measure how big it is then figure how to mount the board and switches

Depends if you have all the supplies to solder and drill/cut etc. should be able to get just the parts for $80 ish. Gets cheaper the more you make lol. The more parts you can get at one place the less shipping will be to.

Ordered the Red Baron case yesterday. I special requested the back of the case to be black to match the black pecan sample price Manu posted. All I have left to order are the batteries which will be ordered tomorrow.

I got about $200 in parts/supplies to make 2 but I ordered more than I needed for some of the parts/supplies so all I will need to do is buy boards and cases. I have heard china is making a knock off dna20 so I might be able to cut cost there. There are some extruded aluminum cases I want I play with later too.

And yes shipping is killing me to!

I saw in your earlier post that you "special requested the back of the case to be black to match the black pecan sample price Manu posted". I'm not sure what you're referring to, but Milo doesn't use the back cover that comes with these cases.

I just got bare cases. Polished or brushed finish for me. Also want to try engraving them. Flame on fire button and up/down arrows. Maybe a skull or something since I'm unoriginal lol. Could cut a hole for USB and screen but that bumps up difficulty. That's why I like this mod design, 8 drilled holes and a slot in the window should be pretty easy.

18 might work, you will have to neck it down to fit the holes in the board. Try it and see maybe. I got some speaker wire in 20 and elevator cable in 24

I guess I'm confused then as you said you ordered the Red Baron. If you just wanted a black case, they come in black.

18ga will work aok, but it's larger and stiffer to work with. And like tx said, you will probably need to remove a few strands of wire to get it to fit in the hole in the DNA board.

I'm sorry for being so confusing. I had originally ordered the Red Baron case. Then I thought it might look cool to have the center red and the front and back be black. So I requested the back of the case to be black thinking the back was the side without screws.

If I have to I can go to a local electronics store and get 20ga wire if it will work better.

20ga is easier to work with (not as big and not as stiff) as 18ga and a better fit into the board's hole. I think some modders do use 18ga though, so if you already have it give it a go.

I believe Radio Shack carries 20ga.

I think I might be better off just getting the 20ga. Those wholes are tiny.

Can I ask a beginner question... I am looking into building a DNA20 mode and using an evolv dna charger with 1 18650 battery. Do I need fuses and if I do which ones? Also is there any reason for LEDs?

Really no reason for a LED....use a fuse if ya want....some peeps use 2 fuses like this noe wired in parallel to reduce the resistance....

Thank you reird.... One more question.. I am confused on if I should be connecting my dna chager to the board or the battery. My setup will be dna 20, dna charger 1 18650 battery.
