Banging my head on the wall too! I have 2 beautiful nieces that smoke. I try to get them interested In vapeing. They tried the pharmacy Blu's. And did not have a good experience with that. I now live far from them and it is hard to convince them.

Oh, that is so very sad! They tried a Blu, didn't like it, and write off all vaping because of that! Some people just don't care to know any better being lazy stupid from the start. This is what I started on:



It totally sucked! It was a truly wretched device, but I didn't just throw out the baby with the bathwater. I knew there had to be a better way, and I went right after it because my health was worth it, and I knew I'd enjoy it far more than I ever did cigarettes. What I vape now is:



Here's the thing: Some people are just too lazy to put any effort at all into a solution. They want it all made simple and done by someone else, so they just have to plunk down money for new coils and juice and whatever new gizmo box. They don't want to put anything of themselves into it, so it's just another thing they buy, like a coffee maker or a keyboard or a six-pak of beer. A simple commodity with nothing of themselves invested in it. Learning what they are talking about is too much bother for them.

Vapers who get into rebuilding and DIY are a breed apart from those people, and there aren't many of us around. The majority of people out there would have tried the horrid vape in the first pic and wrote the whole thing off. It takes a different mentality to push the envelope and pursue it, which is scarce in what society has become.

Point taken, but I don't know anyone else where I live who does either rebuilding or DIY or even uses mods and attys. I've only been able to find those people online, spread out over the globe. Everyone else here is a tootle puffer using a starter rig, and sometimes alternating that with smoking. That's as far as most people care to pursue vaping. There are a couple vape stores locally with staff members that rebuild, but that's about it around these parts.

But, we can post our story, our facts, our reasons in places like our own FB page, Google+, OP/ED pieces, letters to organizations that we belong to. We can be one of many that step forward.

Now there you go. Don't you start trying to throw reality into their irrationality! The only time I come across other vapers is when I visit my local B&M. I will see another while out driving. I get plenty of looks but no comments while walking into a store or shop. And I do post positives on FB at times.

Immediately people started with the "there's not enough research to determine that study is valid" and blamed the soil (which is probably true)...where is this mentality with vaping? Plenty of people saying, "eat your kale until proven otherwise"...well I'm gonna vape until proven otherwise

One of the vapers I've run into "in the wild" actually had a dual-coil dripper on a mech, and his coils looked very pretty, very tight... but the other 4-5 I've run into, all using some ego/pen style vape.

That's very true about not being willing to invest the effort -- no doubt the same people who want to know why I read so much. You can't force learning on people who are DETERMINED to be as ignorant as possible, like it's a status symbol or something.

I was given a Fin; I thought it sucked, so I bought an Njoy; thought it sucked, so I bought a Blu; thought it sucked so I got mad at wasting my money and went to google and typed "e-cigarettes" and found ECF -- after that, I was able to find a cigalike that suited me at the time, and every upgrade I've made since then. But people who are determined to be ignorant wouldn't do something as proactive as actually searching for info; they'll just say "oh well, vaping sucks, I'll stick to smoking" and keep dying with every puff. To such people, "I heard someone say..." counts as News.

Studies...yeah... I have become convinced that studies are motivated solely by the funding available for them and in no way represent reality. On the contrary, they are bought and paid for with the results already decided to support an agenda.

I think in the very infancy of E cigs the mention of "anti freeze" set the course for all the negative outcries today. It set the tone and "dude ranch turned into nude ranch"! AF was mostly debunked so they elevated to another myth just to fit the narrative, they will never give up on the propaganda until they win, then they will gloat about it!

The media, all parts of it, keep hitting the listener/viewer with a message. If we have no message out there, the listener/viewer has no reason to question their message.

Doing nothing gets...nothing. Even joining CASAA and letting them charge $5 a month helps. Doing nothing is just helping...them.

Yes they are haters, if they are acting as vaslovik says!
I really hope I am never face to face with someone acting as she described. I don't think the outcome would be good for anyone.
