I would like to see a sticky of what doesn't work.

I have tried foam from the craft dept at Wal-mart. Worked great for a day then stink, and gunked up my atty. now anything I do smells like burnt plastic. I am guessin there are foams, fillers, and straw's that wont work. It would be nice to see which items failed (maybe a list) so we dont have to repeat trying to use bad material.

Just a thought.

That would be very difficult to do because from what I've read here (and believe me, I have read until my eyes nearly popped out), what works well for one is a total disaster for another. I think it has to do more with HOW you use a certain filler rather than WHAT you use. As you can see, the list continues to grow on things people are finding that serves the purpose of holding liquid in the cart. I was about to pull my hair out trying to find the perfect cart filler until I found Highping's simple cart mod, using polyfill and making a small plug rather than stuffing the entire cart full. I've since put away all of my "surgeon" tools except for a small pair of scissors and a paper clip. Works like a charm for me every time and I only refill every 2-3 hours or more which is a far cry from topping off every 5-6 puffs. My advice would be---find something here that has been proven by more than one person to work and go with it unless you have an insatiable desire to come up with the newest and best cart mod cart mod ever and don't mind the frustration.

That's what I have had the most success with also. Its just kinda messy. And I am always afraid the auto batt that came with my starter is going to short out. Has anybody found substitute caps for prefilling cart's? I ruined some of mine trying to cut them up for a mod.

Hmmm....maybe a small medicine bottle, standing them up side by side so they won't tip over and spill out? That's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that might work. I stopped at 3 destroyed caps so I have a few left for prefilling my carts and capping them up. You might want to invest a few bucks and order you some blank carts. They're pretty cheap and then you'd have some caps to store with.

That was one of the reasons I got away from "plug" mods. They hold a lot of liquid, but they are messy to refill and hard to get "just right."

Do you use a 510? I swear by the PTB Made Easy mod! I've been using it for months on my 510 and it's hard to screw up and easy to refill. :D

As far as the caps, just order empty carts from someplace like MyPVShop.com. They're 5 for $3 and have the caps, plus you'll eventually need the new carts as the edges melt on the old ones anyhow.
