The XvoStick is an excellent idea. I've been looking for this form factor for some time and there isn't a mod out there like it. Well, there were 2, but they are no longer being made. Due to the nature of the design, thumb firing button location is difficult to implement. I'm sure that this will be of the same quality as the microstick. I'm definitely on board for this one. Can't wait to see the prototype pics. One question, how will the battery chamber be closed/secured? Can't really make it out from the above pic.

Hey...glad you brought this up P. I just got a microstick and used the flat top 18500 the seller sent along with it. But when I tried to switch to my AW18490 button top battery, it would not fire at all. Anyone have an idea why? When you open it up to put the battery in if it's a button top, should the button be upward or downward?

I'm using 18500 button top in mine. You "might" find that the firing button will press all the way down to the housing with 18450, and not make contact with the battery? Not sure about that? But if it does, you could unscrew the brass screw inside the firing switch a turn or two... This will make that screw reach a little further inside the battery housing and make contact with the battery...

You could get one of these from any hardware store. And put it between the metal switch housing and the black Derlin and screw it all together, then it should work equally well with both 18500 & 18490 batteries

Thanks for your help. That spring in there is loose on mine.In fact it comes off quite easily. Does it have much to do with making a proper connection?

The spring has nothing to do with the electrical connection. It's there to push the button up - and keep the contact away from the battery, until you press the button to complete the circuit.
The spring is just a push fit onto the retainer. It's easy to pull it off, but it should also "stay put" when it's in place.
As mentioned in a previous post - if you need to undo the screw on the button a turn or two to make it reach the battery - you might want to add a small O ring under the screw, so you can tighten the screw against it - to stop the screw from working loose...
Have you now managed to get it to fire with an 18450?

@LittleDonkey - any updates on the XvoStick prototype? Would love to see some pics, even if it will be modified later - I've been waiting for a mod of this design type for a while :)

Hi Rodsky,

we plan to finish XvoStick prototype in a week.
I've posted some photos here:

I did not realize until I looked at your website that there is a ministick and a microstick. Mine is the microstick correct?

An easy way to tell (aside from the fact that the MicroStick takes 16mm atomizers and the MiniStick takes 23mm atomizers) - only the MicroStick has a serial number.
