I have both the A7 (four) and the Spheroid (two). I'm not sure what prototype glassgal has so I can't comment on that. I don't have a MicroStick, yet, so I don't know if that means I shouldn't be commenting at all ... but here goes anyway.

As far as the adjustable bottom pin. I generally don't care if it's adjustable, or not, until I find something it doesn't work in. So far, my Spheroid works in all of my mods with no modification: Vision Spinners, iTastes, eVics, GP products, and every other person's who has tried mine as well. As long as it works in what I use, I actually PREFER the non-adjustable pin. It's robust and simple and I know it isn't going to fall out.

The A7, on the other hand, requires an adjustment fairly often because the pin is loose. It can be tightened with a bit of teflon tape on the threading but it does come loose eventually and making sure you don't lose connectivity is an issue with the tape as well as the pin turning on its own where screwing the atty down. Actually, to me, that positive pin is one of the most annoying things about the A7.

I don't think it's generally fair to compare, performance-wise, the Spheroid to the A7 in dripper mode but I also do have the A7-oid tip by Captivape as well as a DIY tip/shaft combo. In head-to-head comparisons with similar wick/coil setups the Spheroid either edges out, or flat out blows away the A7-oid. "Fluff/filler" performance is subjective and hard to compare since they have different capacity specs.

The Spheroid shines in build quality. It's built like a tank. The A7, in comparison, is kind of flimsy ... the loose positive post, the flimsy coil posts, the squeaky/grindy threading, and the finish that degrades quickly (I could be wrong but I don't think this is a completely stainless build.

The real question is price and the subjective value you place on it. The A7/A7-oid is a good performer for it's price and the value, therefore, is high. Still, I consider them fairly disposable. The Spheroid is a top performer in performance and build quality and it comes with great customer support, spare parts (should you need them) - something I couldn't really get with the A7.

Don't get me wrong. I really like the A7-oid. It was one of the few rebuildables that got me away from the lower-performance clearos and tanks that I was set on (and I was already rebuilding those, as well). I still keep them around as a cheap backup as well as a dripper for sampling until I find a better one. The A7-oid has a few advantages over the Spheroid ... you can somewhat adjust the airflow with the adjustable pin, and it has a drip well, instead of the flat deck on the Spheroid, so is more forgiving to overfills without flooding. Lastly, it's cheaper... that goes a long way.

Overall, though, the Spheroid wins for me and, subjectively, that margin is not small but YMMV.

If you are interested in the A-7 it is available here: http://www.Empiremods.com/product_p/reba7.htm this atomizer is also reported to be easily converted to bottom feed, although I've not tried that. I have disassembled it and it does look doable...:)

I hope I am keeping track of this right, but the line for the production of the microstick is being retooled for volume? Is that accurate? I want one so bad, but I can not get a feel for how long this waiting process will be...

I suspect sometime in May they will begin shipping again? From what I can gather it takes them about a month or so to do a run? Which has (I believe) consisted of approx. 500 units. So add that time to the time needed to "retool" I suspect that they are finalizing their processes for efficiency and volume. No, while I don't own one, like most folks here it really is the coolness/stealth factor that drives the desire for them (at least for me anyway)...

If anyone else would care to chime in as to what drove you to your buying decision, feel free... seems like there may be some time for "vamping"

There are so many guesses that I feel that I need to clarify this...

There is no list where you have quaranteed shipping order. But you can subscribe for stock updates here:
All - Mini ECIG
If you're suscribed, you will not miss the next run. You will get a personal e-mail 1 day before the next run is announced on forums. We try to avoid too big overload on the store and also those who subscribe get a small advantage :)
Each run is always bigger than all subscriptions, so it's totally impossible to miss the run.
For the previous run we had MicroSticks on sale for at least 3 weeks, before the run was sold.

In April we are going to start production. If everything will go well, we will start earlier, but I really hate to tell people about delays, so we start with realistic "April" and aim into "end of March" :)

Production currently takes about 1.5 months. The last run was started 16/12. Shipping was started in the end of January.
In the next run we hope to start shipping in the very end of April or in May. And then you'll need for wait till your MicroStick is delivered to you :)

The best thing about retailers is that they have things in stock (sometimes) :D

I do apologize, I went ahead and quoted this because of how far I went back!

Cheers to all!

Yes clearly it has to do with "coolness" and stealth factor, I think to myself, self; why else would you want to spend over a 100 bucks on an 18350 mech mod, unless it has some serious advantages to other devices out there? Of course there are other factors in play, but the size IS the big one. Hell I think Ill be able to keep in pocket with tees, pencils, and divit tools while swinging clubs and not scare away my buddy cause it looks like I have a hard on!

A lot of Spheroid fans on this thread. I'm sure it's great but it's also pretty expensive! I do want to get a kayfun mini but until I do I have been using evods and mini protanks with really good results. Of course, the heads are rebuilt. Also sometimes for a change I use my cyclone clone. It's too short to fit in the microstick so I made an extender out of the post of a mini vivi nova tank. It fits perfect and the airholes just happen to line up in the perfect spot.

A black evod looks pretty slick in the ms.

Thanks for that, makes me feel a little better that I still use Kanger T2s. What can I say, they just work I never have issues as long as I keep them clean no fussing, I also havent been at this for as long as most of you, but for a guy whose laid off and doesnt have a lot of dough to begin with, Ill have a hard time justifying a Spheroid.

By the way, I searched for Kayfun mini, turns out they're done making them, far as I can figure.

That's funny, add a couple golf balls and there will be definite fear

Stealth is wealth

The Cloud 9 site says it has been discontinued

Here is a link to the Manufacturers page: Kay Fun Mini It includes a button to be notified when back in stock... (on the product page)If they are truly discontinued (and not just @ Cloud9)? I would think that you would receive some type of notice of same or you could just try contacting them directly... I have the KFL+ V1 and an R91% as well as a KF 3.1 ES clone and they all work very well, so if the mini works just as well only in a smaller form factor, I can see why there would be demand for them and it wouldn't make much business sense to discontinue them? :2c:

Edit: While still showing as a product; the "Details page" now gives a 404 error (it didn't prior to noon yesterday?)

I believe that they are releasing a new version, they also discontinued KFL v1 when they were coming out with a new version.

The 2 reasons I want a MicroStick are the stealth factor, and the recessed area for the atty. I love this feature on the VTR, but it's not the best chipset, and it is too big and bulky to stealth with. Being a mech, I feel like this will meet all my needs. I am signed up for the notified list, so hopefully it will work out for me.

I am thinking a 15mm XL IBTanked carto tank and a Sophia to go with this. However, I may also explore the other atties others here are using. I got some time to figure it out....
