I'm still a bit perplexed at you choices in juice LeX..TPR is nasty? Ahlusion not enough flavor? Well, you do love the Nicoticket so not all is lost on you dear friend.

What can I say- I'm definitely not the norm. :p

If I tried to put into words just how bad TPR was for me, I'd get banned not just from here but the planet.

And yes- Ahl juices are extremely weak in flavor. When I said this in their big thread I was met with a lot of *I must not know what I'm talking about* as though my tastebuds haven't a clue what's good & not good for me.

I enjoy NT but haven't placed an order since 7/14 due to the ones I like having pretty much the same base flavor profile & my tongue was getting tired of it.

Good Morning Mountaineers! Kayte those are some fabulous photos of gorgeous children. Worth framing!
Everyone's valentines' photos...also adorable. Hope everyone had a great day!I am loving it so much it rides in my top pocket!:vapor: I have not heard of GVC..is it available? I did get the heron, and the lux v3...first! But I asked at GP which I should build first after I got the piccoloid and they said build the spheroid first. So that is what I did. I have not budged from it yet. I will get to the heron. If it is anything like this, it will be wonderful.:) I am a happy vaper.:vapor:
GVC is currently OOS but will be back again 2/27 on Grant's site. I bought mine from VapourArt.
Here's what you do- go to Grant's site & register now.
On 2/27 treat your purchase the same way you would a VapourDay or MhMA tip- Road Runner Fassssst

road-runner-1.jpg

GVC sells out faster than you can say your name & items placed in your shopping cart will only sit 5 min before your cart will automatically empty if you dont make the purchase within that time.

When VA had some I set my alarm so I wouldn't miss it.

I'm still trying to figure out how you make those wood/clay tips. Maybe when I get mine I'll have a better chance ;)
Let's see if I can give you an idea of how it's done. This is a cane that I made awhile back. I didn't take pics from beginning to end, but maybe enough for you to put it together. ;)

The clay starts off in blocks of each color. You have to work it with your hands to get it warm and pliable. Then I run it through a 'pasta machine' to make sheets, like the white piece in the back of this photo. To make simple canes, you just stack alternating colors or wrap one color with another color. You can combine colors so that one color fades into another color and then do several different things with that sheet to get different effects.

Once you have an assortment of those made, you put them together in the pattern you want to make a more complex cane. When I was working on this, it ended up at around three feet long. (Ridiculous to try and work with.) This is just a small piece I cut off to see how it was looking.

I took the three ft. long piece and cut it into six section and put them together, adding a small bronze tube of clay to the center. It was so fat my hand wouldn't quite go around it. :sneaky:

After rolling and compressing it down to a good size, this is what you get:

Then you just take thin slices and use them to make whatever you like.

This is my favorite thing I've done with that cane...

And a wacky little tea pot:

Hope that helps!

Well, I missed the whole thing!!! Was reading up on Divisions, Regiments, Battalions and such and wondering just how ANY soldier made it through the first few months of the Korean War. What a mess that was and most of the casualties happened in the first year of that 3 year war. :(

Beautiful tips, Kayte and I would have tried to grab that Stawberry Fields one iffen I wasn't trying to get educated about the "Unknown War". However, I do, I do have the Spectangular coming in tomorrow to console my greedy appreciation of your tips!

Mommabird, have a cousin who asked me to help her out in researching our "Uncle Sonny's" short military career. To try to find as much info as I could for her so she could add it to what info she has to send to her Fed. Rep. to start the process of changing Sonny's Distinquish Service Cross to the Medal of Honor. If anyone can do it, she can! Helps that grandma & pa left a letter sent to them from a general of that time and place who stated that Sonny should have gotten it.

I've done research on family by buying a month's worth of access to Ancestry. I only did a mo. cause I'm retired, have plenty of time on my hands, and go at it for hrs. every day for the entire mo. While I'm at it, also get to read a lot of history of the time......Makes you appreciate what your ancestors lived through. Governments really, really can mess up perfectly good lives. :glare:

Thank you, Sirius, for your helpful info. :) I was reading your suggested links most of the evening!

Kayte, I love that bowl!......I love that wacky teapot!......Probably would love your new mattress too! :p What brand was it again?

That's insane! Wow, I have a much greater appreciation for the work that goes into those tips! Thanks for the inside look at how you create your artwork. I can't wait to get my first wood/clay tip!
Which one did you get? I agree, that is amazing Kayte!!
I was just awakened by my dog...he is so bad and I thought I had broken him of this. Troy often falls asleep in front of the tv. Without touching the remote it will stay on for only four hours. I was the last one to touch it before going to bed, and it was still on when I woke up. Gives you an idea how much I sleep in one stretch..:glare:
Anyway, the show "how do they do it" was just on. And they showed candy makers rolling out different colors into a big block, then stretching it into long tubes. They could make words like I love you, but also designs, like a strawberry with leaves! The end result...similar to the layered designs you get with the clay, but with candy! How strange is that they would show a strawberry, because if I am correct I am the one who snagged strawberry fields!:D

Simply fabulous. You are SO talented. I find it brilliant and am still constantly amazed that no two Molehill Mountain tips are exactly alike. Thanks for the glimpse into "How It's Made":)

Good morning all! Our snowstorm turned into sleet but no ice! So we still have power but peeps south of us got ice [emoji15] Going outside in a few to clear a path for the dogs. Have already put out some pet friendly ice melt. They are such wuss' when it comes to this sort of thing. LOL

Awww...Thanks kayte! I really believe that! I almost didn't check because it had been 40 mins since you had posted. I really thought they would all be gone but I thought what the heck and and checked. The one that I wanted was the only one still there! How could I not snag her?! LOL This will be a nice addition and my first one with the clay design.

That is so fascinating! Takes alot of talent to manipulate that clay into a beautiful design like that [emoji2]

And that teapot and bowl are awesome!!!!

Good morning! :) Sunny and cold (21 degrees now) and not anything extra on the ground. :D

Congratulations, Keepsmiling, JohnD, and Mommabird for bringing home an intricately, involved making clay tip. You'll wonder where Kayte got all her patience and how the heck she imagines pieces of different colored clay together to make a design! The thought process is way beyond my capabilities.

Sirius, did you snag that beautiful, dark and short Burl? Thought you decided tall was the way you needed it. :?:

Dale, how does a tip become pretty and handsome all in one? ........Bet you find a rainbow.

Aw DS, I'm sorry you missed the Pot of Gold but I can't wait to see it in person.
We all know how much more beautiful they are in person

I too have a couple of the older clay & wood DT's so I thought I was being nice and left those alone for you guys ;)
There was one that I would have liked to have had :p
