Okay, ScandaL, finally the governmental "powers that be" have seen the light. Now, hopefully, you'll get back granddaughter quickly (in governmental time). Meanwhile, can you check out what you have to do so this doesn't happen again? How 'bout adopting her? Of course, this is after you take a much needed snooze.....or two......maybe even three. I am just sorry you're going thru this emotional upheavel and wishing you every good outcome that can be had in this situation. At the very least, granddaughter now knows where she'll receive the BEST of loving care!

HUGE HUGS Lex. What a sorry situation on the part of those who would not protect her from the start. It would seem to me there is a good reason she was with you the last five years. And how about that, how about being ripped out of the only home you have known all this time? If it's a good and safe home, then why would they allow this without proper channels? I won't even use the language that is going through my mind now.
I just hope she gets back to you safely. Can you fully adopt her,. so this does not happen again?

Okay so everyone on the mountain is leaving ..long......paragraphs.

Good afternoon Mountaineers..So, .. if I started oh how my day has been it would be a small paperback. Well the nurse shows up today after I cancelled the visit. See my doctor that dumped my insurance told me to stop taking one of my meds that helps with the chronic pain..( Celebrex ) which also happens to be a anti-depressant!
Oh so that splaines a bunch for sure..anyway she get's here and does all the checks..vitals and what not. Heart-rate?..fine.. BP? great.

Mental stability? Questionable.

Here's wishing everyone a good day. I don't think I'll be around much. I'm mentally drained & taking advantage of every opportunity to get some sleep.

Long story.....

Last month 1/6 my g/d's dead beat mother showed up out of the blue from CA, removed her from school & by weeks end took her back to CA (I'm in PA). According to the 'system' what she did was perfectly legal even though she had no parental rights or custody.
I was told by 3 sources involved there was nothing I could do about it (she's lived w/Me for the past 5 yrs).
Phone calls to her mom & other g'mom were unanswered & unreturned.

2/3 I rec'd a letter from my g'd that gave no details to what was going on so on my own I found out less than 10 days w/Her mom she is now in juvenile detention & being that she is a minor they wouldn't tell me a single thing about her including whether she was in detention or not.

My g'd called the police & for her safety they took her to JD. Apparently over the course of 2 days there was a lot of physical & verbal abuse. NOW the same people who wouldn't help me find her or barely talk to me bcoz I'm just the g'm are full of conversation to try to get her back here to me. Recently I found out in words that make clear sense to me, her mom abandoned her child. When they were finally able to get her on the phone to pick her daughter up, she said I dont want her- she's your problem now.

Because everything has to go thru the courts she is being placed in foster care & eventually returned back to PA with me.

I am so bitterly angry on so many levels which isn't helping me sleep deprivation one lil bit.

How about if I take a turn being angry about it for you for awhile so you can go to sleep. It is unreal how messed up 'the system' is. I hope they expedite things and get her back with you asap. Seriously, they can sort out the paper work later. That child needs to be back home with you, YESTERDAY.
I won't even go into how I feel about the 'mother'.

Glad you're starting to feel better DS! Hope the rest of you with bugs are getting the rest you need.

My plans for the day bottomed out. The friend here visiting her mom ended up sick in bed. I feel so bad for her (and for me!) Drove all the way from Calif to end up sick in bed. As we all know... life is not fair. This really bites. On the bright side... ha. Can't think of a bright side to this one. Guess I'll go clean the kitchen and sing 'woe is me songs' until I can laugh about it.

Here's a photo of a large blow hole here in Curacao. Sailing at midnight for Bonaire where we'll be snorkeling g in some of the most famous waters for that. I hesitate to say this but it's been HOT down here. You all know I like cooler air.

...but hey it does work a lot. Idk? I got a new doctor set up for March..will see how she does. I ain't never had a woman general practitioner before. I'll be a new patient so if she wants all my first doctor wanted as far as in a physical .. I might run out the door!

Do you know if it's natural or not? I was under the impression there are only 2 naturally occurring blowholes in the world - one in Italy, and one in Mexico. I've been to the one in Mexico a couple times (LaBufadora), and that's probably where I got that information.

Not sure John. It was more like rock formations where the waves came in from underneath. The water was wicked on that side of the island. We had to take off-road jeeps to get there. I promise there was no road at times and that was one bumpy ride!! This whole island is rock, probably volcanic formations. It's getting time for us to shove off so I'll lose my wifi. On to Bonaire and I get to sleep in a bit tomorrow. I don't know why I've been so stinking tired this whole trip. Everyone else went out after dinner but we're back on our balcony in PJ's to watch sail away.
