I've been watching Caribbean Life where people buy houses on various islands. All the while thinking.....yeah, but it's HOT year around. I don't like the heat and may be the only person in the world to move to a cooler climate for retirement.

I've heard Kayte mention it before about loving the cozy dreary days. My idea of a good day when retired will be watching it snow with a fire in the fireplace, a view of the mountains, a pot of soup on the stove and all my little dogs and fuzzy blankets. Maybe a grandbaby in there too if those CO kids ever have one. I don't think it will be before 2017 though.

There's a reason why civilization started near bodies of water. Was so you could take a dip on hot days! Ha! With you Ms.C on enjoying cold days with a warm fireplace and hot soup. Too long of either hot or cold though, I do not enjoy. Definitely a Spring and Autumn person here. :)

Never thought I'd have a grandchild when oldest floored me when she was 42, but that will be the only one. The youngest is doing fine after her partial hysterectomy a few weeks ago and has been up and about in no time, so none there. And, stepson is a confirmed bachelor. However, Kayte is making up for me! :)

Aw, glad she's doing well after her surgery Chooch. Like Kayte, we've lived close by our grands (only we don't have nearly as many!). But they're now 14 and 10 and within the next few years, probably won't need us as much anymore. Without a doubt, they are our biggest hesitation in moving. If my CO kids have children, I want to be there for their little ones like we were for these. And having been a single mom for years and working my whole life, I want to be a stay-at-home gramma so mom can continue to work. It's my last chance.

Don't tell anyone but I'd bet money if we move, the rest of the family will follow. It would be my dream for us all to live on the same place again. heck, I'd settle for us all being in the same place for a holiday! I hate us being spread out so far. This mama hen would like all her chicks close to the nest. :)

Good morning everyone [emoji4] Sorry I missed the weekend fun! Work will do that! LOL I'm getting way too old and creaky for these long busy work days. Today will be my recovery day. A couple of errands this AM and then I may lie around all afternoon. Later, I taking my dad and hubby out to eat tonight for Father's Day [emoji4] We are going to a place called Skippers that has really good seafood and other stuff as well.

Awwww.... Chooch, glad your daughter is doing well after her surgery. I had to have that done when I was 23 and my youngest was 6 months old. So please make sure she doesn't over do it! I learned the hard way.

"Monday, Monda-a-a-ays.....So good to me-e-e-e-e!" Hoping the week starts out "wonnerful" for everyone! :)

Hello, Dale and Momma. :) Thanks for your concern about dau. over doing, Momma. If all the boxes and stuff from moving weren't laying around, she wouldn't be so tempted to do something. Pain killers can be a blessing AND a curse! At lease when you feel pain, you don't want to do anything to make it worse!

Exactly! And when there is stuff to be done, its hard to overlook. I had two small kids at the time and hubby was clueless. Wound up back in the hospital twice. [emoji15]If I had "behaved" and had help, I'm sure things would have gone well. So tell her to ignore the boxes! They will wait [emoji6]

Do you know someone, Momma, who is impatience, hardheaded, risk taking? Who thinks "warnings" couldn't possibility be meant for her? I can't quite figure it out, 'cause she's never been a "neat freak" and has always seen no problem with "piles" laying around. She has been my "contrary" kid. Different drummer and all that! Ha! :)

I know, KS; but you can talk 'til you're blue in the face! This 35 yr old "kid" has ALWAYS had to learn the "hard way" and she does have the scars to prove it. Gad! :(

That forlorn Koi tip that was up for an unusual length of time until I felt sorry for it and it just needed to be 1/16" taller to meet my "shortest I will go" standard? Well, it came in today and "Oh, Momma!" It was just meant to be and waited until I got my "act together". Ha! Presently sitting on the clear acrylic bell cap for the Subtank on the white base on top to the Kbox mini. The carmel and black on white base is dramatic and eye catching. Would look just as good on a black mod or even the burnt orange Sharkskin. The fellas could use this one too as it's unisex! :)

I looked really hard at that one a few times chooch. I love it's name, and you can kind of imagine it's a beautiful fish or two wrapped around it. Congrats!
Sorry about your daughter being a stubborn one...does she get that from you or her dad?:sneaky:

I'm quicker to adapting to new situations/problems than hubby and dau. possibly because my IQ is lower than theirs and I DON'T think I'm doing the right thing every time. I refuse doing the SAME thing over and over and expecting a different result!

Whysoserious, needs to get around the forum more. There are threads that absolutely crack me up!

Glad you didn't get the Koi, KS! Got at least 3 tops that will look smashing with it......All Hawaiian! Woot!

Hi, Sirius! :) Moving soon to Shangri-la?
