When folks learn just a little about something, they'll take it and run with it.
Having done air condition service work for some time, I'd get a service call:
The owner would usually describe the problem as "the thermostat isn't working." Or "it's out of freon."
What do they know about air conditioning? Usually just thermostats and freon, so they're educated.
Of course, rarely were they correct in their diagnoses.
Yep, "I heard it on the news" or "I read an article in the paper."
I'm pretty sure that with my chain vaping as I do that I'd already be dead if any of the negative stuff was true.
