When they pry it from my cold dead hand.

And seriously, I can go hours without a vape, no problem.

Its a pleasure in life, not an addiction.
I can go days without it, and usually don't even pick it up until after work most of the time.
But to expand on my last post, yeah, never.

I DONT plan on quitting ecigs.... ;) !!!!!!

Same as I dont plan on giving up foods that I like or activities that i enjoy that may hold some kind of risk (what doesnt though ??You take risks everytime you get in your car, on your bike or even WALK!!!).

For me, vaping is one of the pleasures of life and i dont plan on giving up all those little things that make my life enjoyable (within reason of course)!

At this point, after 4 years (first ecig and last analog in March 2011) of vaping im down to 3mg's -zero nic instead of a pack and a half of red MrlB's a day (yay !!! :) :) :) ).

Im hoping to soon be down to 100% zero nic, though ive never made any special, conscious efforts to reduce, my "Nic-needs" just seemed to gradually "drop" on their own.

The main thing for me ?All those delicious FLAVORS !Coffee, vanilla, fruit, complex mixes of all of those!I enjoy them too much, REALLy dont plan on ever giving up .

If future legislation makes it hard for me to vape Ill try to keep doing it nevertheless.... even if I have to take the "illegal "routes or resort to making juices, coils etc. myself. = id rather not and sure hope it doesnt come to that BUT if it does even that wont STOP me ;) !

Claudine

PS :if I NEED to (work and so on) i can go for half a day/several hours without,no problem, but i think that any longer would probably bother me, same as it would "bother" me not to be able to have my morning coffee...but i'd survive ;) !

Well the reason I switched was so that I could save money and not smell. Yeah, health wasn't high on the list but the positive effects have shown it should've been.. If the future regs take away my ability to diy and/or tax premade excessively then I'd probably look into lowering to zero but would still plan on using them. Maybe as I grow older it'll fade away but I see no reason to make myself stop.

And I really don't think it has much if anything to do with the nicotine; it's that hand to mouth thing, which, after enough years of doing it, has carved itself permanently into the brain. Behavior is the hardest thing of all, to quit or change.
There are two reasons I know I'm not ever going to quit...

1) When I drink, I absolutely MUST either vape or smoke
2) I have made a conscious decision to continue using nicotine for health benefits

As to the drinking thing, my need to keep my hands busy skyrockets when alcohol is involved.
As to the health benefits, I'll keep using nicotine in the form of vaping unless vaping is ever shown to be harmful.

Since the only way vaping can be shown to be harmful someday would almost certainly be due to flavors...
Then I'll just keep on vaping unflavored if it comes to that.

Plan to quit ecigs?

honestly i think ecigs with some willpower paved the way for me in quitting regular cigs.... I was on half a pack to a pack a day.... But now ecigs came into the picture made quitting that much easier, even though i feel healthier vaping than smoking... This thing gota have a side effect sooner or later...

i plan to quit ecigs by vaping less and less... As of now its becoming like my third arm, i have to have it everywhere... When battery is low or when i cant use it... Its like worse than having no battery on my phone...

So main question : when are u planning to quit

I smoked for 30 years so I don't plan or expect to quit ecigs.

Just like I don't plan to quit drinking beer.

It it were about 20 years earlier in my lifetime though, I'd probably vape less. But right now it's more .. old man, pipe, next I need a rocking chair!

This is exactly what happened to me too...

I was only smoking around 7 cigarettes per day, although I did that for 27 years.
But I switched to vaping because my wife kept complaining about how bad I smelled after having a smoke.

I didn't know I had any health issues related to smoking UNTIL I stopped smoking.

I've posted this before, but this seems like a good time and place to repeat it...

--When I was smoking I could hold my breath for around 30 seconds
--After 12 months of vaping I could hold my breath for around 90 seconds
--After 17 months of vaping I got a Pulmonary Function test and my results were slightly better than average
--After 30 months of vaping I could hold my breath for around 110 seconds

I have no plans on quitting vaping. I love it - both vaping itself and the hobby aspect - and as the health negatives seem to be minimal I see no reason to quit. I don't think I'd have any problems quitting though. I do vape all the time, more than I smoked, but often I "forget" to vape for long times if I have something involving occupying my mind.

I don't Plan to quit. But if the FDA and other BG arms make it too costly or criminal to continue vaping I will not rule it out. I'll probably begin ramping down in anticipation of the Elected Officials doing what they do best Taxing the Proletariat, Practicing Prohibition and Publishing Propaganda.

Whenever I'm not allowed to vape I constantly think about vaping though. But I guess that's the same with many other things I enjoy when I'm not allowed to do them. The impatient teenager is strong in this one :)

Well, I don't drink, and hopefully never will again (because if I do, vaping/smoking/nicotine is the LEAST! of my problems!!!), but after 39 yrs of smoking, I doubt very seriously that my behavioral need for this activity is ever going anywhere. It does seem somewhat less addictive than smoking, though; even though I still use WTA, there are times when I do kinda "forget" to vape... until that urge comes over me, and then I remember, oh yeah, vaping! :D

I also feel that nicotine is a very valuable ingredient in my regular regimen, with 2 different types of dementia in my gene-pool; the regular geriatric "senile dementia," and Alzheimers too -- I really need all the help I can possibly get, to keep my marbles together as I get older. Funny, until I quit smoking, I really didn't worry about that, because I figured the cigarettes would get me LONG before any type of senility became an issue. :D

By the end of Sept, I should be done with the WTA, and I'm strongly considering that before it gets cold, trying to bring my nic level down by half, to 5mg, to see if that helps me with the "popsicle paws" problem I suffer every winter. Sure would be nice if I didn't have to take a blowdryer to my hands and feet every few hours. I think the nicotine (and possibly some of the other alkaloids in WTA) also help a great deal with my IBS issues, so that's another excellent reason to never totally be rid of nicotine -- and to keep a "just in case" stash of WTA, even after my regular use is done.

I simply don't see any good reason to ever totally quit -- even if I could!

About the behavioral dimension; I'm not at all sure that it'll be that difficult though. Vaping will have taken away much of the dependency, and the hand to mouth habit shouldn't be too difficult to break. Since January I've given up sugar, potato chips, beer, flour, rice, pasta, and pretty much everything else with carbs - and compared to that then breaking the hand to mouth habitat should be easy.

I don't plan to quit unless legitimate proof that vaping poses health risks.
I haven't smoked cigarettes for 20 yrs.
I went from cigs to cigars to vaping.
I haven't had any tobacco since my first pull on an ecig.
I have to admit that vaping is a hobby as much as a habit.
If the chemicals or the way it's vaporized proves to be harmful I'll stop.
I vape 3 nic so the the hand to mouth interaction will be the hardest part for me.
Any real results from studies of health issues and I'm out.
