Although the exact process is a trade secret, this is what is known. Tru-Stone is manufactured from approximately 85% natural stone ore that has been pulverized to a powder and then mixed with gem quality pigments and acrylic resins. It is then compressed into blocks and cut to size. The finished product is a material that resembles natural stone

TheM3 is a metal re-alloy that appears silver in direct light and blue when viewed with indirect light.

I hope this helps.

That is exactly what I as going to say!! Thank You sir!!

They look great. What is TruStone and what is M3? Are they bonded stone media?

I have searched high and low for a better answer but it is a trade secret. Both materials are awesome and I haven't seen a picture yet that does either one of the materials Justice. Just to give you an idea Picture 2 and 5 are M3 while 3 and 4 are TruStone for comparison.

StevesCVO description is for the Coboltium M3 in picture 2

The other m3 tips are Mokume Gane

Check them out here for a full description
Next time I post pictures I will put names with them to help out. I was just being lazy.

No apologies. I think the drip tips are beautiful, and some of them look like stones I have never seen. I really like the black/white one (next to last pic) in your post. I'm not much for the vase/ming styles myself, but I really like the angular look of that one and think the shape would more fit my preferences. One of these days I will place an order for a nice drip tip.

I'm glad to see you and others like that shape. That came about because I like the hard lines and angles of that tip. We call it the Solo Tip.
The first one that I made was out of Carbonite a M3 material (Look in our gallery of sold tips) Boardopboy happened to win that one and I told him it reminded me of Darth Vader and he brought up the fact that Hans Solo was encased in Carbonite. I think that is how it went. I'm not a Star Wars Junkie so don't quote me. As simple as it looks it is the most difficult to turn. The material is not forgiving to any waves and the intersection at the "waistline" is difficult to maintain sharp during sanding and polishing but the finished product is wort it.
When you are ready let me know what color you like and I will make it for you. I'm like that fast food joint. "Have it your way" Thanks for the kind words, Tommy

It was Hans Solo who was encased in carbonite :D I do like that shape, though, it is simple and striking at the same time. Is the top of the Solo about the same measurement as a "traditional" 510 drip tip? I will have trouble choosing a color since they are all so great, and I was especially drawn to some in the pictorial post before this one. Too many choices!!

As far as the size yes they are very close. As ripple pointed out some of the mings can be large but I try to keep the tip inside of a range that feels good and not like vaping a burrito.
Sorry for all the pic but a pic is worth a thousand words an i have been told. The tip on the left is a standard 510 aluminum tip.

LOL!! vaping a burrito=bad.
The pic is perfect for me, they do look very close. I am used to that size, and have tried others but it just feels odd to me. I end up paying more attention to the tip than I do the vape. Thanks for all of your info and patient explanation. I'm a big fan of hand-crafted anything.

Make some more mings, I love mine and I want to order another - -and I got lots of compliments at the vapemeet when I pointed it out that you made it, some say it was a little big but I love the range of colors in the lava..........

Yes sir, and from what I have seen the more the color the more you like. I will be putting in an order soon for more material and I have my eye on some wild colors in Acrylic of course because TruStone is kind of limited in the wild color field. I can always trim the tip down The tip you got is one of the "fat bottom girls" No offence ladies that is an awesome song and I like em that way:thumbs: OOPS..My bad back to the tips..... Just let me know what you would like and I will do my best to meet your expectations. Thanks for showing it off and your compliments are awesome too.

No problem, I'll be watching for sure -- I'm thinking I need a blue-green swirly one, sort of a churning sea tip.....:D

And you know I only say nice things when I believe in the product, i'm not a cheerleader but an observer....:thumb:

Don't need cheerleaders. Believers are fine with me. I enjoy making these things and every tip is different in it's own way. I love to do everything by eye and feel. Believe it or not attitude has a lot to do with it. I can be moody as hell and my work shows it (To me at least) An honest opinion or compliment is all I want and I thank you for that.

There are a few colors of which you speak and I will have them in my hands soon.:headbang:

Hey Ripple, how about the pictures I did a lot of experimenting with lights and backgrounds and I think they look more natural and not as dark. what do you think?

I think they look much better -- but if you could click on them and see a highlight and/or a larger pic that would be even better, it would allow the customers to see the tips' idiosyncrasies much more clearly...:thumb:

I will have Cameron look into that but some things on our site are limited. If anyone ever needs a closer look I can always take more pictures and send the full size. I'm all about letting the customer know what they are getting. I like to keep the surprises on the positive side of things.

I like the shape of the solo. The Bloody Basin Jasper is sweet. Your pics are a lot better IMO with the better lighting. You had a pink up a while back I bought for the SO. It was a little big for me but she likes it fine and matches the Pchela perfectly. I wouldn't say it was like sucking on a burito but more like a malt straw  I like buying from the smaller vendors here because I get unique items that are one off. When working on Ripples make me a light/dark green swirly :D Kinda like the banded Malachite.

I will put that color in with my order. Nice avitar by the way. We are trying to get a mascot that matches our name. I like wicked clowns but I don't want to scare anyone. Skulls are cool but again Scary. Blah!! I hope it doesn't wind up looking like Barny or a purple elephant. That would be just my luck.
