So went to grab my MVP off the charger and it almost burnt me. I actually dropped it after I picked it up cause I jerked away. I have been around a lot of batteries and have several mods. I know lipos well as I race r/c cars and been using lipos for years. I wish I had my temp gun handy but I would easily guess the MVP was 175F+. I am basing that off my r/c cars motors that run around 150ish and i can stand to touch them for a bit. The mvp was much hotter. First time in ecig's I have had a battery get that hot. This thing is getting retired or I may drop a new bat in it. Anyone else heard or having issues?

FYI it was on the charger about 2 hours....using the adapter that came with it.

Yeah my Pans and AW IMR batts have never gotten much more than warm. I bet if I opened up the MVP the pillow lipo is puffed bad. So the cell is dying. I got 6 months use from it.
Yeah, it's prolly' ugly. Six months - that can be a little, that can be a lot... depends on the user eh? ;-)

Was this the MVP or the MVP 2.0? I guess the MVP 2.0 hasnt been out for 6 months has it?

I've heard of people charging with clearos on and them being welding to the unit from the heat. Sucks, because I really want an MVP, just not sure if it is worth the risk.

I get what your saying but my "dud" could of burnt my house down. I have charged my MVP overnight before but will never again. My wife has an MVP also that was bought on the same day. Her MVP is doing fine but i won't leave it unattended anymore that's for sure. BTW I love the MVP I use it more than any other device. Just giving people a heads up.

Off my Trustfire TR-001 my Aw 18650 IMR's are barely warm. On the Nitecore I4 they come off a little warmer and finish sooner than the Trustfire. The Trustfire TR-001 charges at 500ma and the Nitecore I4 charges at 750ma if one battery is being charged or two in adjacent slots, hence the extra warmth. I haven't hit them with the infrared temp sensor.

What does your charger list for OUTPUT MA on the bottom label?
