I've been thinking of some of the BB clone recipes on this thread, and some use almond oil as a flavor in the mix. This raises the question in my mind about allergies. I'm not allergic to any kind of food, but what about others?

Others could have allergies to peanuts and almonds. I know we have the clone recipes...and some of them sound really good (even if they weren't considered BB clones). A person with almond allergies would be probably be sane enough to know not to DIY juice using almond oil.

But if the actual BB juice uses some type of almond or peanut extract/oil then I think that they should post some kind of warning on their website about peanut/almond allergies. What do you guys think?

Then again, IDK what the 'secret' ingredients are in BB, and I may be way off with this.

Good observation. They would have to indicate that unless the flavor is artificial and only simulates the actual flavor.

I was reading Ave's about page and thought this backed up my theory that he was duplicating a real food item which I believe is a candy or dessert with tobacco flavor. His customer who requested it wanted a "realistic" flavor of smoking and "something" sweet that he probably ate or drank while having a smoke. Is it a popular Asian snack? Do we have a variation of it in the US? I wished I had a Ranch 99 to look around. :)

Find out what that is and I bet it can be cracked. There is way too many description of what people think they taste due to atomizer setups and tastebuds changing.

From AVE page: "In 2009 this quote hit home. As new vapers we were underwhelmed by the selection of flavors and the quality of the flavors available to e-cigarette users. Many of the flavors we tried were only remotely close to what they advertized and some were altogether different. We wanted the snozberries to taste like snozberries and the tobaccos to taste like tobaccos. It was easy to see that on one hand electronic cigarettes were working, and yet on the other hand we could also see where someone might fail due to the lack of realistic flavors."

Yes, tobacco absolute has become near impossible to source. TPA is now using all tobacco absolute pure to make their TA blends in alc or pg and likely will not be returning TA pure to general sale. I mentioned this awhile back and seemed only a matter of time before AVE would run out.

I have an alternate source for TA pure but it Ave wants it it'll cost em... lol. And Im keeping it to myself... for now.

I thought I detected cherry at one point when my bottle was brand new but I dont think it was cherry. I dont taste it at all anymore.

To Levitas, again I dont think its a NET being used for Bobas. I really do believe that he just doesnt either a) want to do zero nic, or b) doesnt feel Bobas works well in zero nic.

And for everyone else... I'll say again... Ben said "five basic ingredients", not five flavors... three are tobaccos. There may well be only one other misc flavor and another ingredient such as EM, menthol, distilled water... His wording leaves me to believe that ingredients could be flavors or other things as well.

I did a bit of mixing tonight. First chance Ive had in about two weeks. Tried a mix with cola and some other off the wall mixes. Ill let ya'll know.

What about tasting the juice to tongue?

I had some El Kamino about a month ago, and some say it's supposed to be similar to BB. I think it is a good juice that hits flavor notes that are near BB but the mix is definitely different from BB. All in all, I like the juice, and for me I could go with either. But I think I like BB more by a small margin.

Anyways, I had my wife smell the EK and she said it smelled like banana. I didn't smell any banana. But later I tasted the juice on my tongue and I could taste a hint of banana in there along with some hot cinnamon.

It's interesting because I don't like the taste of banana, but I can't taste it in the vape. The times I had BB, I don't recall tasting it with my tongue.

None of his tobaccos are available without nicotine. That would mean that he feels that none of his tobaccos would taste right without nicotine, given that it was a preference factor. That, or, it's a very elaborate ploy to keep everyone guessing. Saying that he will not do his tobaccos without nicotine is very different than saying he cannot.

Makes sense it would be called El Kamino since it was suppose to mimic BB or try to appeal to the BB fans. Kamino is another Star Wars name called the Planet of Storms. The Kaminoans are known for "cloning" technology. Maybe just coincidence.

So I was looking through my kids candy jar (I suggest you never do that) and thought wouldn't it be something if I had that candy which BB is mimicking. Boba Fett is from a distant galaxy so how about Milky Way Bar. It sure seems close but when I taste a drop of BB, there is a sweet fruit-like flavor. Could it be a mix of a grape-apple which gives the raisiny sweet notes? Ben says there is no chocolate so could it be coming from the Tobacco flavor he uses? Milky Way does come in Caramel Apple Milky Way......I do think 1 flavor being used is Marlboro Red. I've read people describe it like a box of raisins.

After doing a bit of googlefu on flavorings that may contain nicotine I have found zero. So im inclined to believe he just doesnt want to make zero nic juices... for whatever his reason is. If he was using a NET or WTA, he would have to disclose it. Even absolutes are zero nic.

Either way, I still believe regardless of the whole zero nic thing that he uses the same available flavorings that we all use. I know knowing his reason for not doing zero nic might give us a hint to what he uses but I dont think he will say, nor would it matter much. A clone can be had without this info.

I'm inclined to believe that it's preference, Buffalo. But I can't help but to wonder why, if that is the case, he offers 0mg in every other flavor except his tobaccos. You would think, from a business point of view, that it would be optimal to offer said juices in 0mg. Not only to cater to those who wish to enjoy 0mg flavorings, but it would also save him cost, since the nicotine is generally the most expensive ingredient in e-liquid.

I spent a good minute watching BB reviews on Youtube. It's funny to watch the blank look or confusion of how to describe it. Someone said it was peanut butter and strawberry jam. Another said it was Chocolate with a nutty caramel. Then the raisiny sweet which I get but not as dominate. But the common description is like a real cigarette like a Camel. The "sweetness" confuses me. It's something I've had but just can't figure it out other than it's a fruit flavor. But the review of someone who used to smoke a pipe tobacco called Blue Note peaked my interest since he said it was his favorite. Anyone here experienced Blue Note?

I watched the video of Ben giving some history of AVE and that he was mixing this stuff in Korea. So that begs the question, was he originally using asian flavors or was his buddy from DIYFlavor shipping him the flavors?

That's a good question, and if I remember correctly, he was using some products he purchased from USA companies that were from overseas. Then I think he said was able to also have produced here in the states.
