About that ring of bubbles in the Boba's Bounty bottle...I believe it isn't fermentation. It appears to be a result of extreme agitation. I duplicated the same thing with one of my fresh DIY juices yesterday.

I don't have an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. But I got our Jeanie back rub massager out yesterday, turned it upside down and stuck a newly-made bottle of juice between the pad and the fleece cover and turned it on to let it vibrate for about 4 minutes. When I inspected the juice, it had turned cloudy. Looking more closely, I noticed it was cloudy because it was filled with a multi-gazillion tiny air bubbles. The juice became clear again after 8 hours or so, but there was still a small ring of bubbles around the bottle at the top of the juice. I transferred the juice from the glass bottle to a plastic squeeze bottle, and there is still a ring of bubbles, even in the new container. It's just a small ring and kind of foamy-looking, just like BB. So, I think we can put the fermentation theory to rest.

This is probably a no-no for someone who isn't a seasoned veteran in the vaping community, so if I'm ousted, then I guess that's okay.

I'm thinking BB is so coveted because:
(1) It's complex. It has more than one flavor.

(2) It changes with time (and the condition of your taste buds at the moment).

(3) It has been promoted on YouTube by various people as the very best all day vape of all time (my words)

(4) At some point, it was very hard to order, making it a scarce commodity.

I had to know what everyone was raving about, and I got a 30ml bottle a couple of weeks ago. At first, I didn't care for it. Then I sort of did enjoy it, somewhat. It's pleasant; it's not overwhelming, just nice. But I don't understand exactly what the mania is about. I'm not knocking it, but I wouldn't stake my non-smoking future on its availability.

All of us who DIY, please just give your juices time. I've been so disappointed and set things aside, only several weeks later to find that they are really pretty good after all.

I would just be happy with a nice Camel and Newport juice (and I never smoked either one!) And that's Just Me.

Mine taste like a burnt caramel.

When I first tried BB I tasted caramel. I never tasted the raisin flavor. The closest food/candy I can compare to BB is Werther's Original hard candy. I have some, and the Werther's candy bag never mentions the word caramel. Not even in the ingredients. But of course Werther's candy has it's own secret recipe.

I'm thinking maybe I'll try some caramel and maybe even a little cinnamon in my next DIY. I'm thinking cinnamon may not be in BB but I definitely tasted what seemed like hot cinnamon in El Kamino, a juice by another company that is similar to BB. Oh and don't forget the Graham Cracker.

I know bobas can taste slightly different from batch to batch, but this seems way off.......hmmm.

I'm not getting the burnt caramel so much today but it's definitely "way off" and It's a lighter color than previous orders. I contacted him/her thru their web site but haven't heard back.

What website did you get it at?

bcme - a couple of things. First, you don't need to write new posts side by side with one another, as you can just edit your last post with the new information you wish to add (this is just to prevent double, triple, quadruple posting... it gets spammy).

Second, some people in this thread have speculated that Ben may of been using a form of VG-based tobacco absolute. Well, recently TA has been taken off of the market due to wonderful regulations looking towards our best interests (we're free human beings... leave us free adults the hell alone... you're not my parents, Government... and I'm not hurting anyone with my habit... jerks).

Anyways, if this proved true, this would be Ben would have had to replace the TA with another ingredient, thus the flavor change, however subtle or prominent. (Definitely not the first person I've heard this from.)

Whatever it was, change or no, the profile that I enjoy about Boba's is still present, so, I'm good :)

So, after a few days of trying different ratios of the honey, I have come to the conclusion that real honey is not one of the ingredients. This then moves the honey taste back into the tobacco group, which make me believe then that it may be a variant of one of the Captain Black clones, Elder Captain perhaps. As a side note this then also begs the question: Where is the non-EM sweetness coming from? Stevia?

@bcme: I think you are suffering from one form of "boba insanity" best described by the constantly changing taste. I believe this to be the result of a gradual build up of gunk on the coils over a period of time which does indeed change the taste. You might try changing your coil if it is your intent to have your sanity return.
It was for this exact reason when I got into cloning that I went to a pair of rebuildable dripping attys so that I could dry burn the coils at least once each day to restore my sanity. :)

Sorry about that..not sure what you mean there.

You could be right. I usually clean or change coils between tanks (Pro tank 2). I'm certainly not knocking Ben, I was only trying to relay there is a huge difference in taste with this bottle and my last and for me the taste is not good, hoping it will get better with time.

"you're not my parents, Government..."
While they are closed surely someone will think to put a padlock on the door.

Interesting that TA has been taken off the market. I thought it was just shortage. More interesting is that they would do this yet still allow cigarettes, a known killer of millions to be still be sold. Maybe if we bribe our congressmen -- oops, I mean support them with generous campaign contributions -- they'd let it back on the market.

TA is not off the market. I just bought some last night.

Perhaps I am in the wrong? I've personally never sought to purchase the stuff. I just read in this thread, and I thought I read something along the lines of a possible restriction in sales of TA?

Alas, I am far too lazy to go digging for the post(s). My apologies if my statement is incorrect.
