Thanks a lot.
I don't know who thought of adding white vinegar, but I would like to say thank you. I'm not trying to make a clone, as I prefer at least 50% PG. but, the vinegar did wonders to my mix. It cut the sweetness beautifully, without taking it away completely. Great work, and thanks again.
I have had difficulties in duplicating that ..... baked graham crust flavor(?) .... that seems to be lacking in my recipes when compared directly to the real McCoy. I do have some apple cider vinegar on hand, maybe that's the ticket .... back to the lab.
Perfumers Apprentice - Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (PG)
I think this could be what you're missing.

I've been adding AP to my tobacco and bakery flavors lately. It really adds a nice bready, nutty depth to otherwise bland mixes. Go easy though, it's extremely potent. I use 1-2 drops per 10mL.

Like popcorn soap? But like, not a small amount. Like your mouth was full of popcorn soap. I realized it almost immediately. After I finished coughing I just dunked the entire thing in vodka and closed up the bottle AP and haven't tried it in a mix since![]()
I must be thinking of something else. I was thinking it was an extreme base but yeah you are right. Anyway, I used it at 6%. Not if the total in the e liquid, but in the total of the base flavoring. I mixed up all the flavors to 100% separately and then added it to my nic base at 15%. That might sound confusing but basically I made a premix flavoring with the ingredients and then added that to my nic base. Instead of adding the individual ingredients to my nic base.Vinegar is an acid, acetic acid, not a base. The nicotine is the alkaline ingredient. How much ACV by percentage are you using that you can actually taste it?
I'm leery of using ACV as it kind of defeats the purpose of the vinegar, which is to balance the pH of the nicotine (ACV is less acidic than distilled vinegar, a pH of around 4 vs. around 2.
You may be onto something with ap. I've never tried it but I know when I get a short or hotspot in my mesh/coil on a genny my Boba's gives off a really distinct soapy and very odd taste. With most other juices I will just get a burnt taste but with Boba's and gj they have a completely different taste when you have a malfunction in your genesis. Anyone else notice this? It's not a metallic taste; although I've got that too from a hotspot but there's a different kind of bad taste once in a while.Like popcorn soap? But like, not a small amount. Reading the thread is well worth the effort. There is a price to paid for anything worthwhile.
