So has anyone tried using Capella's toasted almond instead of Lorann's? Just trying to reduce the total amount of different vendors I order from

Go for it. I substitute different vendors/quantities/flavorings all the time. Nobody has come up with an EXACT copy yet anyway, and some of my results are actually quite tasty.....I like my variant of the AV Gorilla juice better that the real thing when tasting side-by-side (I was surprised) ....

Just remember to take good notes so that you can duplicate that "Eureka!" recipe when you hit it. :)

Just have fun with it...

Hi guys,
I've been following this thread for a while. I may have found a DIY NET base that may be the missing ingredient, the raisin and spicy taste that some of you guys mentioned is missing. I've never vaped BB so I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure but this tobacco that I just extracted a very good vape by itself and has a raisin/fig (dark fruit) and slightly spicy flavor. Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake (by the ounce) . Fresh in the bag it smells good too, like chocolate covered raisins/prunes.

Are you using the microwave-shot glass method to extract?

The more I vape this juice, the more I like it and it's only a day old. I'm trying to copy HHV Serendipity and Legend. This kind of tastes like raisin flavored Legend instead of Legend's cherryish flavor and should get better with steeping. I'm gonna make a bigger batch to steep, this one is definitely a keeper... BTW: I'm tasting this juice on a Vmod XL with a 1.5 ohm slant coil atty fwiw.

I don't have a slow cooker so I have to use a microwave. I put ~1/2 oz of tobacco and 60ml-70ml PG in a 4 oz mason jar covered with plastic wrap then microwaved it for 10-20 seconds until it gets to about the temperature of a hot cup of coffee, stir it and squish it with the back of a spoon then let it cool down to room temp. I repeated this a few times a day for 3-4 days then filtered it.

I'm wondering if it'll be ok to use nicotine base PG to extract the tobacco? Might be a slight waste of money, though, but I don't have plain PG right now.. I do have plain VG, though, maybe I'll use that? Or grain alcohol.

VG is probably you're best option just extract it a day or two longer due to the VG being thicker. I don't think nic based PG would be good because you wouldn't know the exact nic level in the extract in the end when you're done. Alcohol may extract too much out of the tobacco, molecules that you don't want.

Heating the extract before filtering it helps speed it up the filtering a bit too. You'll probably have to do that if you use VG.

Cool sounds good, I will use VG.. I prefer that to PG anyway. Thanks! Gonna order some of that tobacco as soon as I can.

Funny thing happened with me lately. I had made 10ml bottle of i dunno which recipe (maybe #8 or eitano's "latest favorable version") and i waited for 1 week. I tried it out it was nice and everything but not very deep. So i finished it all. yesterday i found the bottle sitting there with few drops left, and was ready to wash it for my next experiments. I took a smell of it, and WOW, the smell was deeper and richer. It's like the flavors got acquainted and started to get along :D. I couldn't have a taste and i was facepalming all day. This was maybe 20 days after the preparation. Moral of the story, steep the hell out of these experiments. It takes patience but good things come to those who wait :).

I bet the secret ingredient is something silly like soy sauce.

I just have the Cat Skill BB clone to guess from and for some reason it reminded me of a sweet salad sauce that my wife makes. Her main ingredients are brown sugar, soy sauce and vinegar. When I get my flavors from Wizard Labs, I'll give it a shot unless someone here wants to try it first. =)

Ok Guys here is the update:

made 10ml of

Boba's Clone #8
Tobacco Blend (Alc) 25.0% (used ecig express Tobacco Blend PG instead)
Cinnamon Danish Swirl 20.0%
Almond oil 10.0% (used Almond Natural not oil)
Cherry 15.0%
Graham Cracker 20.0%
Cotton Candy 10.0%

and 10 ml of

Latest favorable version (eitano's):
4% Graham Cracker(TPA) (used Capella)
3% Black Cigar(VZ) (used Black Mile from ecigexpress)
3% Tobacco Blend Alc.(TPA) (used ecig express Tobacco Blend PG instead)
3% Cinnamon Danish(TPA) (used Capella)
3% Cotton Candy(TPA) (used Lorann)
2% Cherry Natural(LOR)
2% Almond Natural(LOR)

After 12 days, took a taste, both taste amazing!! I really don't care for BB anymore :). But anyway to each their own, i don't guarantee you will like any, but let me tell you, these will be my all day vapes from now on. I will keep the rest of the bottles to steep for 10 more days. I think these need like 20 days at least.

Now I know ecigexpress is out of black mile, for some reason i cannot buy from vapingzone (problems with credit card validation ) Does anyone know any other flavour that gives the same taste?

I found a UK seller of Capella's and TPA for guys in Europe, good prices and shipping LeisureLiquids- Home. If anyone knows other in europe please do tell preferably that has Lorann as well.

Now with eitano's formula the flavors are obviously more pronounced since he uses 20%. But I like both of the mixes. Every time i switch i think "mmm this is nicer".

I am still having problem with "vapor too wet causes cough" problem. I will try another VG base and I will see if some fiddling with coil heat setting will alleviate that.

Big Thanks to Slohand and Eitano!

I got my order from Wizard Labs and I'm going to attempt this tonight. Sadly I never tried the orginal but I got a clone version to see if I'm close. I definately smell Banana Nut Bread and Graham Cracker.

I hope we can crack the recipe so every B&M or DIY vaper can make it and help smokers get off the analogs. I was showing my aunt my new first mod with Kanger Pro Tank and her instant reaction was "I want one". I didn't even know she smokes. I'm going to let her borrow two extra EVODs with the BB Clone and Mango.

Welcome.

Would recommend increasing the Almond Natural(LOR) to 2% and add 2% EM or Cotton Candy.

I don't have black cigar but was thinking of using Black Honey (TFA) and I got Toasted Almond (TFA). Included in my order was AP 5%, cotton candy, coconut extra, smooth, banana nut bread, toasted marshmallow and double chocolate dark.

Kind of a show stopper for now with the glass bottles since I was going to use the drop method. Gonna need more pipette and/or 10ml bottles. Might give me an excuse to order some things from Fasttech. :)

I've had black honey and black cigar, and personally they are nothing alike. Your end product may still be good... but just letting you know.

Does Boba's have a cinnamon note to it? (I've never tried it) I made Batch #7 without the almond (because i Dont have it) and I'm not a fan. I actually like when it just has coconut, graham cracker, cigar and tobacco flavors. Didn't like the cherry added either. (I know taste is subjective but just giving my opinion in case it helps someone)
